M*A*S*H 2011

I'd rather watch reruns.

"Atheist group seeking recognition by Army; Members believe designation may help end stigma" by Tom Breen, Associated Press / April 2, 2011

RALEIGH, N.C. — A pioneering effort to ensure fair treatment and win recognition for nonbelievers in the overwhelmingly Christian US military

That fights wars for the Zionist Jews of Israel.

“We exist, we’re here, we’re normal,’’ said Sergeant Justin Griffith, chief organizer of Military Atheists and Secular Humanists, or MASH. “We’re also in foxholes. That’s a big one, right there.’’

For now, the group meets regularly in homes and bars outside of Fort Bragg, one of the biggest military bases in the country. But it is going through the long bureaucratic process to win official recognition from the Army as a distinct “faith’’ group....

MASH formed in January, partly in reaction to a concert that was sponsored by an evangelical Christian organization and held on base last fall....

In preparing this post I began to note in my mind that you rarely see an article from a war front regarding MASH units, or the veterans that have been through them.

Then again, maybe I'm missing them amongst the endless articles about Islamic terrorists.

If the Fort Bragg group succeeds, it will be overseen by the Chaplain Corps. That might seem contradictory for a group defined by its lack of belief, but it means MASH’s literature would be available along with Bibles and Korans.

Actually, non-belief is a belief.

Its members say they would feel more comfortable approaching chaplains for help with personal problems. Recognition would also be an official sign that not believing in God is acceptable, something members say is lacking now.

I am at the point where I have my own private beliefs, and that is about as far as I want them entering into questions of war and peace.

I'm just wondering what is Christian about invading nations over lies and slaughtering millions of them?

Btw, where is the hollering about separation of church and state from certain groups?

“They call it ‘coming out of the atheist closet,’ ’’ Griffith said.

Whether it is women, gays, or atheists, what is so fabulous about serving the Empire?

“There are people who won’t say anything to anyone outside of their own close-knit group. They don’t want Grandma to find out, or whoever. People feel like they have to lie about it.’’

Then they should fit right into government and the mouthpiece media.

Dear readers, I have often wondered where are the incisive antiwar sit-coms these days.

Coming soon (maybe): the Sheen spectacle

Yeah, that is (or was until recently) the top sit-com in today's AmeriKa.  How pathetic.

Yeah, thanks Charlie, but you may not be the best spokesman for that.

I'd rather hear from Jesse Ventura or Richard Gage.
