But About Bahrain....

On the front lines of WWIII:

"Gulf troops will stay indefinitely in Bahrain as a counter to perceived threats from Iran, which the island kingdom’s Sunni rulers have used as a reason for their harsh crackdown on the country’s Shi’ite opposition.

Bahrain’s king declared martial law last month and invited about 1,500 troops from Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states to help contain a Shi’ite uprising that Sunni leaders around the oil-rich region believe could open the way for greater influence by Shi’ite powerhouse Iran.

A-HEM!

"There is little evidence the Shi’ite-led protests here have an Iranian sponsor or flavor."

Tehran has no history of political ties to Bahrain’s Shi’ites, but it has denounced the Saudi-led troop deployment and condemned the crackdown."

I'm kind of sick of seeing the word but in my newspaper, but putting that aside (pun intended) I'm just loving the deceptive implications from the war-promoting paper.

JUST SPEAKING OUT AGAINST the EMPIRE designates you as a TARGET!

We truly are living in glorious times!

"Medical workers missing in Bahrain" April 23, 2011|Globe Wire Services

LONDON — More than 30 medical workers are missing in Bahrain, an American rights group said yesterday, in the latest indication that the country’s health care system is being drawn into Bahrain’s confrontation with prodemocracy campaigners.

Who were they treating?

The group, Physicians for Human Rights, cited reports from Bahrain that “doctors are disappearing as part of a systematic attack on medical staff’’ and that “many physicians are missing following interrogations by unknown security forces at Salmaniya Medical Complex’’ in the capital, Manama.

Oh, it is the ALLY that is abducting doctors and torturing them (what do you think interrogation means?)!

In a Web posting, the Cambridge, Mass.-based group published a list of more than 30 medical personnel — including ambulance drivers, consultants, and surgeons — who it said had been held.

And the Globe picked this up off the wire (unlike the initial days of now all-but forgotten Haiti when they dedicated handfuls)??

“Although families have tried to contact administration officials, the administration denies any knowledge of their whereabouts,’’ the post said. “According to family members, the physicians are being held incommunicado in unknown locations.’’

Kind of getting a taste of what AmeriKa has done to Muslim families across the planet.

There was no immediate response to the accusation from the authorities in Bahrain, which enlisted military help from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to put down a prodemocracy uprising last month and sent army and security forces to crush dissent....

And not much of a peep from the West about all that. I can nOt imagIne why realLy, can you?

The government also moved onto the grounds of the Salmaniya hospital after it became a hub of opposition activities.

THAT is a WAR CRIME!!

Going into hospitals to grab people is a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY!

Of course, it's soft sold in a sentence if you are on the "right" side of WWIII!

--more--"

The other interesting observation is that the GLOBE TOTALLY DROPPED THIS STORY!

I guess they care more about the war agenda than they do well-meaning doctors, 'eh?

Instead I received news of this sort:

"Bahraini prince to attend wedding

LONDON — David Beckham, Elton John, and Rowan Atkinson will mingle with royal guests at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding, according to the guest list released yesterday. Also invited is the Bahraini crown prince accused of a brutal crackdown on protesters (AP)."

"Bahrain sentences 4 protesters to death in killing of policemen; Yemenis decry slaying of 12 demonstrators" April 29, 2011|By Nada Bakri, New York Times

BEIRUT — A military court in Bahrain sentenced four Shi’ite Muslim protesters to death yesterday for the killing of two policemen last month during demonstrations against the Sunni Muslim-ruled government, Bahrain’s national news agency reported.

Three other activists who were also on trial in the same case received life sentences.

Human rights activists in Bahrain voiced fears that the verdicts could generate a new wave of protests. They also asserted that the trial was rendered unfair by a series of legal abuses, including the arrest of one of the defendants’ lawyers.

Amazing how these things are one day blips as it is Syria and Libya every day, every day, every day.

The suspects were also barred from meeting with their families, and the news media were not allowed to cover the trial.

You would think at the very least that would stir the AmeriKan media, but nope.

“These verdicts will have a huge negative impact on the Bahraini society,’’ said Mohamed Maskati, who heads a human rights group in the kingdom. “We fear brutal violence in the days ahead.’’

I'll be looking for Bahrain in my Boston Globe.

Other activists refused to talk, citing the wave of arrests that have swept the country.

What's up with that?

Amnesty International urged Bahrain to stop the verdict.

Bahraini authorities said the defendants had the right to appeal, though Amnesty International and local human rights groups said the appeal would be insignificant at this point.

“The defendants received all legal rights in line with human rights international laws,’’ the Bahraini government said. “The verdict is a clear indication of the community’s utter condemnation of barbarous crimes and a profound commitment to the protection of precious lives.’’

And how many hundreds did the government kill?

Bahrain’s Shi’ite majority, which has long complained of marginalization by the Sunni ruling elite, took to the streets last month in mass protests and sit-ins demanding reforms, freedoms, and equal rights

Aren't those the people America should be supporting?

The king declared martial law and sought the help of Saudi troops to crack down on protests.

The guy we are supporting (sigh).

At least 30 people were reported killed since the protests started in March.

Oh, I guess I stand corrected.  Clearing 'em out has limited the death toll.

The seven opposition figures were charged in the premeditated murder of government employees.

And what does blaring war lies leading to the death of millions get you.

Military prosecutors presented a video that suggested the protesters had run the policemen over with a car. Lawyers for the accused denied the charges.

Oh, government presented a video. I'm convinced beyond a shred of doubt now.

--more--"

And at the bottom of all this?

"Bahrain’s authorities took broad swipes at Iran yesterday, accusing Iranian-based hackers of trying to crack into a government website and urging a boycott of Iranian goods in retaliation for alleged interference in the island kingdom’s unrest.

I suspect USrael after Stuxnet.  Either that or a lie by the king (like that has never happened before).

Shi’ite power Iran, which has been sharply critical of the kingdom’s crackdown on Shi’ite protesters demanding more freedoms. Bahrain and other Sunni Arab leaders in the Gulf accuse Iran of meddling in their affairs and seeking gains from the region’s unrest, which Iran denies.

Whom have they attacked, invaded, and occupied lately?

--more--"

The day after USrael attacks Iran or Pakistan, Muslims and Arabs will be in the streets and will sweep away these AmeriKan-allied governments clinging to power.

Just a prediction for those psychopathic idiots to try and save them (and the rest of us all) from themselves.
