Sending Signals to Pakistan

I think they already got the message

Dead Terrorists Wore High Tech Black Uniforms

Karachi attack a US operation

The former head of Pakistan's ISI, Hamid Gul, tells Channel 4 News that he is "100 per cent sure" a Taliban attack on a major naval air base in Karachi was an "American operation".

I think he would know-- just as Pakistanis and all of us do.

How it was reported here:

Militants storm high-security Pakistani naval base (By Salman Masood and David E. Sanger, New York Times)

No, no, no, MY PRINTED ARTICLE was an AP PIECE by Adil Jawad!

"Militants storm Pakistani navy base" by ADIL JAWAD, Associated Press

(AP) — Islamist militants stormed a naval base in the Pakistani city of Karachi late Sunday, destroying a U.S.-supplied surveillance aircraft, firing rockets and battling commandos sent to subdue them in one of the most brazen attacks in years, officials said.

At least four navy personnel were killed and nine wounded in fighting at the Naval Station Mehran that was going on more than four hours after the strike began, said navy spokesman Irfan ul Haq. He did not know how many militants had been killed or wounded. Between 10 and 15 attackers entered the high-security facility before splitting up into smaller groups, setting off explosions and hiding in the sprawling facility, he said.

The coordinated strike rocked the country's largest city just under three weeks after the death of Osama bin Laden in an American raid on the northwestern garrison city of Abbottabad, an event al-Qaida allied extremists here have vowed to avenge.

The unilateral American raid triggered a strong backlash against Washington, which is trying to support Pakistan in its fight against militants, as well as rare domestic criticism against the armed forces for failing to detect or prevent the operation.

The fact that militants were able to enter one of the country's largest military bases is another embarrassing blow to the army and will raise questions over whether the attackers had inside information....

Oh, it was an INSIDE JOB, huh?

The obfuscations, the omissions, the insults, and the censorship are really the limit!

No group claimed responsibility for the attack. But the Pakistani Taliban, an al-Qaida allied network which has previously launched attacks in Karachi, has pledged to retaliate for the death of bin Laden, and has claimed responsibility for several bloody attacks since then....

Yes, just trot that turd out and hop the AmeriKan news consumer swallows it.

SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Suicide truck bomb kills at least 32 in Pakistan" by Associated Press / May 27, 2011

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — A suicide bomber in a pickup truck detonated his explosives near several government offices in northwest Pakistan yesterday, killing at least 32 people in the latest violence to hit the country since the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

Yeah, well, we KNOW WHO is doing WHATEVER in Pakistan these days!

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack....

That is what my LYING S*** NEWSPAPER SAYS!

Most of the victims were civilians....

A-hem

"Now stop and think here for a moment. All revolutions depend on public support. Revolutionaries try to first win the people before they take on the government. So, no revolutionary goes out and murders civilians in cold blood. Did Washington and his men just mow down a marketplace of their fellow colonials for the heck of it? No, they did not. Washington and the Founding Fathers knew that their revolution to build a new country needed the support of those who would live in that country. This is true for every revolution in history. Therefore, these acts of terror being blamed on the insurgency must all be fakes, committed by intelligence agencies working for the governments to be blamed on the insurgents in order to destroy public support for the revolution." -- Wake the Flock Up

That is what I see when I see this s*** in the paper now.

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, has landed in Pakistan for talks. Earlier yesterday, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton stressed the importance of strengthening Washington-Islamabad ties, which have frayed badly since the bin Laden raid.

Also see: Clinton visits Pakistan to bolster ties

That's not going to help.

In claiming yesterday’s attack, the Pakistani Taliban stated that it was not vengeance for bin Laden, but rather revenge for security forces’ killings of a family of five Chechens earlier this month in Baluchistan Province.

Yes, Pakistan's rarely mentioned civil war over resources.

"Anti-Taliban militia targeted in attack

ISLAMABAD — At least eight people were killed yesterday when a suicide bomb ripped through a restaurant in the northwestern tribal region of Bajaur. The Taliban claimed responsibility, and a local official said the target was Malik Tehsil Khan, a member of an anti-Taliban militia, who was killed (New York Times)."

The "anti-Taliban" militia is the CIA TALIBAN!!!

And HEADS UP, Pakistan:

"Witness links militants, Pakistan’s ISI" May 24, 2011|By Sophia Tareen, Associated Press

CHICAGO — The federal government’s key witness in the trial of a Chicago businessman accused in the 2008 Mumbai attacks testified yesterday that he started his training more than a decade ago with a Pakistani militant group that received assistance from the country’s main intelligence agency.

The trial of businessman Tahawwur Rana is being closely watched worldwide for what testimony might reveal about suspected links between the Pakistani militant group blamed in the rampage on India’s largest city and the intelligence agency, which has come under increased scrutiny since Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces on May 2 outside Islamabad.

Of particular interest is the government’s first and main witness, David Coleman Headley, who is cooperating with prosecutors after pleading guilty to taking photos and videos of targets in Mumbai before the rampage that killed 160 people including six Americans over three days.

Rana is accused of providing cover for Headley, his longtime friend from boarding school, by allowing him to use his Chicago-based immigration services business as a cover when he traveled to Mumbai to scout sites.

Headley, who wore a light blue golf shirt and dark windbreaker, told jurors he received weapons and leadership training with the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba since 2000 and it was his understanding that Lashkar and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency, known as the ISI, helped each other.

“They coordinated with each other and ISI provided assistance to Lashkar,’’ said Headley, who spoke in a soft voice and with a slight British accent. He did not immediately give any specifics.

Headley said when Lashkar leaders began talking about a possible attack in India, he suggested that he get involved. Before moving to Mumbai in late 2006, Headley said he first came to Chicago, met with Rana, and explained the plot in hopes of persuading Rana to let him open a branch of his immigration services business as a cover....

But Headley’s credibility has been under question.

Headley, born Daood Gilani, reached a plea deal with prosecutors in the terrorism case in exchange for avoiding the death penalty and avoiding extradition. He has also been an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration....

Oh, so ONCE AGAIN it was a GOVERNMENT GUY DIRECTING, FACILITATING, and INSTIGATING a "terrorist" plot!!

Signals my war-promoting newspaper didn't send me:

China and Pakistan: Best Friends

Pakistan Playing the China Card

The Chinese response to bin Laden’s killing and its immediate aftermath in Pakistan should be a reminder to the Obama administration: in its dealings with Pakistan in pursuit of its Afghan goals, it has a weaker hand than it imagines. Someday, Pakistan may block those supply lines and play the China card to Washington’s dismay.

Washington is so arrogant I'm sure the possibility hasn't even entered their mind.
