The Bruins had a chance to skate into the finals last night, but coughed up a 2-1 second-period lead and dropped a 5-4 decision to the Lightning at the St. Pete Times Forum.
Next up: The Cup
The Bruins are back in the Stanley Cup finals for the first time since 1990. In a pulsating Game 7, the spoked-B’s defeated Tampa Bay last night. The Bruins play the Canucks in Game 1 Wednesday night in Vancouver.
For fans, celebration was 21 years in the making
Those Bruins fans who kept faith in the belief that this is a hockey town spilled out onto the streets around TD Garden afterward in a celebration nearly worthy of the Stanley Cup itself.
So how many were hurt, and how much property was destroyed?
Or was it not like the night the Celtics won the championship?
