Nearly 100 people gathered in the pouring rain on the Middleborough town lawn today to protest a town ordinance that would make swearing in public punishable by a $20 fine.
The organizer of the rally, Adam Kokesh, 30, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, said the ordinance is an example of “pathological bullying behavior” by the government.
Yeah, but you see, THAT KIND of BULLYING is OKAY even if it is done based on lies and results in the deaths of millions of people -- maybe including a future graduate of Middleborough schools who joined the military.
You see, the GOVERNMENT ONLY BULLIES YOU for YOUR OWN GOOD(?)!!
He was joined by residents and protesters from other states.
In other words, outsiders swelled the ranks and this is not reflective of the community at large.

Some Middleborough residents who were watching the rally said the ordinance was not strong enough. "I'm hoping they pass it and people get fined," said Joanne Brown, 69, who wanted to see fines of $50 or $100 instead. "Once you punish somebody they're not likely to try it again."
The only time that philosophy apparently doesn't apply is for Wall Street looters and thieving banks that steal trillions.
One of the 183 voters who supported the measure said public swearing had caused town businesses to lose patrons, among other consequences.
Yeah, it couldn't be the hollowing out of the AmeriKan economy or anything. It's gotta be those dirty-mouthed kids.

The woman, who said she worked for the town and asked that her last name be withheld, said she agreed with the protesters that the law is a violation of free speech. But she saw it as justifiable.

The ordinance also decriminalized some other types of disorderly conduct, including public marijuana use, littering, and dumping snow on a roadway. Those violations are also punishable by fines.
