Clearing Out the International Criminal Court

Bomb threat by.... you know!

"Ex-Bosnian Serb leader cleared on 1 genocide count" by Mike Corder  |  Associated Press, June 29, 2012

THE HAGUE — The Yugoslav war crimes tribunal acquitted former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic of one charge of genocide Thursday, but upheld 10 other war-crime counts related to atrocities in Bosnia’s bloody war.

It's AmeriKa's dirty little secret regarding the Balkans.

While the decision was a setback for prosecutors and angered survivors in Bosnia, the 10 pending charges against Karadzic include another genocide count covering his alleged involvement in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre of 8,000 Muslim men and boys.

The charge that was dismissed Thursday covered the mass killings, expulsions, and persecution by Serb forces of Muslims and Croats from Bosnian towns early in the country’s 1992-95 war, which left 100,000 dead.

Presiding Judge Oh-Gon Kwon said prosecutors did not provide enough evidence to “be capable of supporting a conviction of genocide in the [Bosnian] municipalities.”

At the halfway stage of Karazdic’s long-running trial, judges said there was enough evidence to uphold charges including murder and persecution in the early stages of the war, but the killings did not rise to the level of genocide.

Prosecutors finished presenting their evidence in May, and earlier this month Karadzic asked judges to dismiss all 11 counts, saying prosecutors had failed to prove their case.

Karadzic’s lawyer, Peter Robinson, welcomed Thursday’s rejection of the genocide charge.

“Dr. Karadzic and myself both thought it was a courageous decision of the trial chamber to say at this stage of the case that there was no genocide in the municipalities in Bosnia in 1992,” Robinson said outside the court. “But I do expect that the prosecution will want to appeal this decision.”

Prosecutors had no immediate reaction.

But survivors of the Bosnian war said the decision could set back any reconciliation.

And there is another trial next door

"War-crimes trial of Bosnian Serb leader begins" by Mike Corder  |  Associated Press, July 10, 2012

THE HAGUE — Ratko Mladic is the last top-ranking suspect to go on trial at the UN court, set up in 1993 as war raged in Bosnia. There was early skepticism about the tribunal’s chances of gaining custody of top suspects, but the court eventually got all 161 people it indicted, including alleged masterminds Mladic and his former political master, Radovan Karadzic. Both went into hiding for more than a decade before being captured....

They eventually got everybody, huh? Bush, Bliar, Rumsfeld, Rice, Cheney, Israeli government officials, they ain't in hiding. Go get 'em.

I'd like to make it clear that I am truly sorry about the loss:

"Bosnians bury 520 Srebrenica genocide victims" by Aida Cerkez  |  Associated Press, July 12, 2012

SREBRENICA, Bosnia-Herzegovina — The pain that seared Srebrenica 17 years ago burned fresh Wednesday as tens of thousands of Bosnian Muslims came to bury their dead in a town whose name is now synonymous with genocide.

In a ceremony broadcast live on television across the country, 520 coffins were placed in the ground as tears flowed from family and friends.

On the anniversary of Europe’s worst massacre since World War II, a memorial center in Srebrenica honored the thousands of Muslim men and boys slaughtered in July 1995 by Serb forces.

Izabela Hasanovic, 27, spent the last minutes crying over one of the coffins before it was lowered into the ground.

‘‘My father, my father is here,’’ she sobbed. ‘‘I cannot believe that my father is in this coffin. I cannot accept it!’’

The valley echoed with the sound of dirt landing over 500 coffins from thousands of shovels as a voice read out the names of the victims and their ages from loudspeakers.

Among them were 48 teenagers as well as 94-year-old Saha Izmirlic, who was buried next to her son who also died in the massacre.

Srebrenica was a UN-protected Muslim town in Bosnia besieged by Serb forces during Bosnia’s 1992-95 war. Serb troops led by General Ratko Mladic overran the enclave in July 1995, separated men from women and executed 8,372 men and boys within days. Dutch troops stationed in Srebrenica as UN peacekeepers were outgunned and failed to stop the assault.

They never seem to stop anything, which really makes one wonder (or not) what they are really doing there.

The bodies of the victims are still being found in mass graves across eastern Bosnia. The task has been made more difficult because the perpetrators dug up mass graves and reburied remains in other mass graves in order to cover their tracks.

Maybe, but I'm having a hard time believing they would be diverting valuable time and resources for that as they are losing a war. It's standard pap script from the mind-manipulating, agenda-pushing war organ.  I guess all the lies regarding the Holocaust™ have gotten to me.

The victims have been identified through DNA analysis and newly identified ones are buried at the Srebrenica memorial center every year.

So far 5,325 Srebrenica massacre victims found this way have been laid to rest.

In Washington, President Obama issued a statement honoring the memory of the ‘‘8,000 innocent men and boys’’ massacred in Srebrenica.

‘‘The name Srebrenica will forever be associated with some of the darkest acts of the 20th century,’’ Obama said, adding that the United States ‘‘rejects efforts to distort the scope of this atrocity, rationalize the motivations behind it, blame the victims, and deny the indisputable fact that it was genocide.’’

I forgot what I was going to type.

Mladic was arrested last year in Serbia and is on trial now at the tribunal in The Hague. He faces 11 charges, including genocide, for allegedly masterminding Serb atrocities during the war that left 100,000 dead, especially the Srebrenica massacre. He denies wrongdoing.

Many Serbs still deny the Srebrenica genocide, including Serbia’s newly inaugurated president, Tomislav Nikolic. Some of them view Mladic as a national hero.

And it's the distortion that gets me.

Tired of political speeches every year, the families of the victims allowed only Holocaust survivor Rabbi Arthur Schneier of the Park East Synagogue in New York to address them at the ceremony Wednesday.

‘‘Shalom, Salam,’’ Schneier greeted the crowd, addressing them as ‘‘brothers and sisters.’’

He said the Srebrenica genocide was a crime against humanity but also a crime allowed by the rest of humanity.

‘‘Silence is not a solution, it only encourages the perpetrators and ultimately it pays a heavy price in blood,’’ Schneier said.

That is why I have been blogging for nearly six years now.

He reminded the audience that even today, the Syrian regime was killing its own people.

Please tell me he didn't turn the event into an agenda-advancement. Please tell me he didn't just try to advance the Zionist war agenda that will kill more Muslims.

Btw, how is Israel treating those Palestinian folk these days?

‘‘[It’s time] for humanity to say in one clear voice: These crimes against people will end!’’ the rabbi said. ‘‘Here on this sacred day we say ‘Never again!’ And we mean ‘Never again!’ ’’

The crowd responded ‘‘God is great’’ in Arabic.

That's gross.

Maybe I'll just catch the movie.

Based on the book:

"Western historians, academics, and media sources overwhelmingly paint the Serbs, led by Slobodan Milosevic, as architects of suffering, committing atrocities in Kosovo that necessitated NATO intervention. Serbs are portrayed as xenophobic fascists who caused a "humanitarian crisis," while the role of the West, in intentionally severing Kosovo from Yugoslavia and Serbia, is rarely mentioned. This essay will demonstrate that the Serbs legitimately feared Serbian expulsion from Kosovo, as well as the separation of Kosovo from the FRY. Serbian nationalism was not the cause of the 1999 Kosovo Crisis. Rather, the KLA, an Albanian paramilitary organization supported by NATO, was used to exacerbate ethnic tensions in Kosovo in order to legitimize a NATO intervention. This conflict occurred in the context of broad Western, particularly U.S., objectives in the Balkans. After describing some relevant history, and providing a synopsis of Western objectives in Yugoslavia, this essay will examine and demonstrate the fraudulent nature of NATO’s justifications for the war and alleged "humanitarian" objectives. Information will be drawn predominantly from research-supported studies of the conflict by well-known academics, news articles from mainstream Western newspapers, and whenever possible, primary sources from U.S. State Department, U.N. and NATO releases, to observers on the ground, journals of forensic investigation, and the Rambouillet Accord itself....
