LEXINGTON, Tenn. — A tractor-trailer hit a cow, skidded across the median, and crashed into another truck and an SUV on a rural west Tennessee highway, killing four people, police said.
Highway patrol spokeswoman Dalya Qualls said the driver of the semi was heading eastbound on Interstate 40 Tuesday night about 100 miles from Memphis. After striking the cow, it slid into the westbound lanes.
A police report states the driver and passenger in the semi that hit the cow were killed. Two people in the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer also died and a third person was injured. The driver of the second tractor-trailer was not injured.
