Rude Awakening in Falmouth

"Four teens charged in Cape home invasion" by Jaclyn Reiss |  Globe Correspondent, September 02, 2013

Falmouth police have arrested four local teenagers and are searching for a fifth after authorities said they robbed an East Falmouth home at gunpoint early Saturday.

Police say three of the teenagers, wearing masks and armed with a rifle and a stun gun, broke into a home on Sandcastle Drive just after 6 a.m. while the residents were there. They took cash, televisions, jewelry, a phone, and liquor before fleeing in a getaway car, authorities said.

Police found the alleged stolen property — minus the cash — and a .22 caliber rifle and stun gun, which they believe was used in the robbery at an Old Barnstable Road home in East Falmouth, according to the statement.

Police arrested and charged Michael Fernandes and Elijah Smith, both 18 and of East Falmouth, and an unnamed North Falmouth 16-year-old with home invasion.

A fourth suspect, Kayla Pina, 18 of East Falmouth, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice. Police are currently searching for Nicholas Licciardi, 17 of East Falmouth, on home invasion charges.

Police are still investigating, and authorities said they expect further criminal charges to be brought. Anyone with any information may call the Falmouth Police Department....
