Wild Day in Washington

Talk about a deja vu:

"Woman killed after police chase near US Capitol" by Bradley Klapper and Laurie Kellman |  Associated Press, October 03, 2013

WASHINGTON — A woman driving a black Infiniti with a young child inside tried to ram through a White House barricade Thursday, then led police on a chase toward the Capitol, where police shot and killed her, witnesses and officials said.

Was the child hit?

News on the radio early this morning was a post-partum depression situation, which raises the question of prescription pharmaceuticals again.

UPDATE: Schizophrenia meds found at home of woman in Capitol shooting

FURTHER UPDATEPhotographic Proof that the DC Woman Rammed the Barricades!

Sigh! No matter what it is WE GET LIES from this government and its mouthpiece!

Tourists watched the shooting unfold on Constitution Avenue outside the Capitol as lawmakers inside debated how to end a government shutdown. Police quickly locked down the entire complex temporarily, and both houses of Congress went into recess....

They finally getting a taste of what it is like for the rest of us?

Police described it as an isolated event and saw no indications of terrorism. The Washington, D.C., police chief said the suspect has been pronounced dead.

I'm sorry, that thought didn't even cross my mind. I guess I will need another USraeli-sponsored false flag to get me back on my toes, huh? Yeah, the "terrorists."

The pursuit began when a car with Connecticut plates sped onto the driveway leading to the White House, over a set of lowered barricades. When she couldn’t get through a second barrier, she spun the car in the opposite direction, flipping a Secret Service officer over the hood of the car as she sped away, said B.J. Campbell, a visiting tourist from Portland, Ore.

A fleet of police and Secret Service cars chased the Infiniti toward Capitol Hill....

The shooting comes two weeks after a mentally disturbed employee terrorized the Navy Yard with a shotgun, leaving 13 people dead including the gunman....

US Capitol Police on the plaza around the Capitol said they were working without pay as the result of the shutdown.

Am I $upposed to feel $orry for the tools of tyranny?

What the my morning paper brings as the official story:

"Police shoot, kill Conn. woman at Capitol; Say she tried to breach landmarks; officials do not suspect wider plot" by Peter Hermann, Ed O’Keefe and David A. Fahrenthold |  Washington Post,  October 04, 2013

WASHINGTON — A woman with a 1-year-old child in her car was fatally shot by police near the US Capitol on Thursday, after a chase through the heart of Washington that brought a new jolt of fear to a city already rattled by the recent Navy Yard shooting and the federal shutdown.

Sigh. Maybe that is part of my problem regarding the pathetic lack of posts here. My paper is full of fear on every page in one form or another, and I'm just exhausted.

The car was registered to Miriam Carey, 34, a dental hygienist from Stamford, Conn., law enforcement officials said, adding that they believed Carey was the driver.

Word on the radio was she had just been fired but you may have to go check that, readers.

District of Columbia Police Chief Cathy Lanier said the driver tried to breach two landmarks and that the incident was not an accident. But officials also said it did not appear to part of any larger or organized terrorist plot.

So who was the FBI instigator, I mean informant?

The chase began about 2:15 p.m. at a White House security checkpoint, where the black Infiniti driven by the woman struck a barrier and a Secret Service officer. The woman drove away and headed to the Capitol.

During the chase, police officers opened fire twice, both times in areas busy with tourists and office workers.

When you think about, THOSE are your TERRORISTS!

I mean, this woman was armed, right?

The Capitol itself was locked down, as a debate over the government shutdown was interrupted by echoes of shots, officers with guns, and an urgent order to ‘‘shelter in place.’’

Wow, a WONDERFUL REMNANT of the Boston Marathon false flag and hoax, being exercised on members of Congress no less! WOW! And how poetically ironic. Shutdown as they are debating the shutdown.

The end came outside the Hart Senate Office Building, at Maryland Avenue and Second Street NE. The woman’s car got stuck. Officers fired another volley. Then, moments later, an officer emerged with the child, carrying the toddler away as new waves of officers arrived.

Authorities said the woman was not armed, and although the incident was first reported as a shooting at the Capitol, the only shots were fired by officers.

I'm sorry, what's that again?

And didn't the same thing happen earlier this year in NYC where the cops injured 9 while spraying a crowd while a gunman fled?

Police said there was no indication that the woman was part a larger threat. But they said little about why she had suddenly become a threat herself.

‘‘I am pretty confident this was not an accident,’’ Lanier said at a news conference.

Lanier said that the child was in good condition and in protective custody. Two officers were injured in the chase along Pennsylvania Avenue, but neither was seriously hurt.

The chaotic day caught Washington at an unusually low moment. Just days after the government shut down because of a budget impasse and weeks after 12 people were killed at the nearby Navy Yard, the notion of gunfire and a car hurtling from the White House to the Capitol had the city thinking the worst.

It began with something not that unusual — a driver with out-of-state plates turning into a blocked entry near the White House.

It quickly became something else....

But then, the driver fled east and was stopped by police at a small traffic circle at the foot of Capitol Hill. There, video shot by the US-funded Arabic TV station Alhurra shows officers with guns pointed at the car. The driver took off....

What? They had her stopped with guns drawn and she takes off? Story stinky!

And on an angrier note, WHAT is the U.S. doing FUNDING  an Arabic TV station when the American people are under sequester and shutdown!!! WTF?

I $uppo$e propaganda ha$ it$ price!

Police said they were not sure how many officers had fired or how many times the woman was shot.

One can only hope the FBI doesn't block the release of the autopsy as in the case of poor Todashev.

Inside the vast Capitol complex, heavily armed Capitol Police officers began banging on doors....

Who would want to psyop Congress at this time?

I mean, it's not like they voted down a war or are pi$$ing off banks in any way.

Who could possibly be at the bottom of such a thing and take full advantage of the opportunity even if everything is as reported and innocent?

The other circus down there:

"A hint of assent on debt ceiling; Boehner reportedly open to raising limit on a bipartisan vote" by Noah Bierman and Mattias Gugel |  Globe Staff and Globe Correspondent, October 04, 2013

WASHINGTON — As the Treasury Department warned that a government debt default could trigger the worst economic calamity since the Great Depression, the first cracks seemed to appear Thursday in House Republican resolve to use the debt limit as a political bargaining chip.

They are lo$ing the $taged and $cripted political wre$tling match, huh?

Word circulated on Capitol Hill that House Speaker John Boehner told some colleagues he may be willing to pass a measure raising the debt ceiling by using a coalition of Democrats and Republicans. Such a vote, which would avert a financial meltdown, could trigger an internecine fight over his speakership....

Bye, John, and good riddance.

And I AM TIRED of the SKY is FALLING CRAP that is HOLLERED every time BANKERS are not going to get their money! Heard this same $hit back when we were told Wall Street needed to be bailed out for its fraudulent selling of mortgage-backed securities and its criminal profiteering betting against them.

A default would be catastrophic to the American economy, freezing credit markets, dramatically devaluing the dollar, and sending interest rates skyrocketing....

Okay, it's booga-booga which is to cover the real devaluing of the dollar -- Bernanke's monthly printing of $85 billion dollars in "stimulus" to but back bad Wall Street $hit they were forced to buy back and to phatten up their record-setting profits -- followed by the obvious: interest rates have nowhere else to go since the Fed has held them down for so long.

Unnamed officials told several media outlets, including the New York Times and Washington Post, that Boehner had sought to reassure some of the more moderate House members that he understood the full consequences of failing to raise the debt ceiling....

Translation: They know who buys and pays for the place, and we can $ee that the banker's influence even supplants AIPAC's and Israel's.

The developments came on a surreal day in Washington.

Surreal is reading this s***.

As lawmakers traded blame for the government shutdown and searched for ways to end it, a car chase that began at the White House and ended outside the Capitol ended in police shooting and killing a woman driving the vehicle. As shots rang out, Congress was placed in lockdown conditions, and lawmakers were told to shelter in place....

Keep your hand on the trigger, too.

Need some health care for your anxiety?

"Congressional pay, health care benefits under scrutiny" by Tracy Jan |  Globe Staff, October 04, 2013

WASHINGTON — Paychecks for lawmakers, which continue to flow amid the government shutdown, have been the subject of political criticism and mockery all week. Congressional health plans are being cast as “gold-plated” benefits, a symbol of everything wrong with “Obamacare.”

Yeah, they are all $till getting paid. Don't think that isn't lo$t on the American people.

Massachusetts lawmakers, like their colleagues from around the country, are caught up in the controversy over their own compensation during the government closure, which has resulted in furloughs, without pay, for 800,000 federal employees.

The circumstances are especially awkward, since the widespread hardship is the direct result of political failures by officials who are still receiving a salary.

Sensitive to appearances, four of the 10-member, all-Democrat Massachusetts House and Senate delegation said they are either donating their congressional salaries earned during the shutdown or refusing their paychecks. Members make $174,000 a year, or $3,346 a week, before taxes.

Public pressure has been building for lawmakers to surrender their pay as long as the government is closed. Petitions by MoveOn.org and other groups have drawn hundreds of thousands of signatures.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward J. Markey said they would donate their salaries, as did Representative Niki Tsongas. Representative John F. Tierney said he will not take a salary either, but is weighing whether to donate it or return his paycheck to the Treasury at the end of the month. Representative James P. McGovern said he may donate his salary to the Worcester County Food Bank and the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

“But these symbolic gestures don’t solve the problem,” McGovern said. “If the government is still shut down, it doesn’t matter who I donate to.”

Historically, essential staff who work through government shutdowns have been paid retroactively when a continuing resolution is passed. This is not guaranteed for furloughed employees.

“I am standing in solidarity with my hard-working staff,” Tierney posted on Facebook about his decision not to get paid. “As long as they are not being paid, I will not take a paycheck.”

The offices of Representatives Joseph P. Kennedy III and Stephen F. Lynch said they had no plans to donate their paychecks. Representatives Michael J. Capuano and Richard E. Neal said they would decide what to do with their paychecks once they receive the money on Nov. 1. Representative William R. Keating did not respond to repeated questions about his plans.

The issue of pay is contributing to a sense of confusion in the Capitol, as lawmakers adopt widely different approaches to the politically sensitive subject....

This is making me $ick.

The debate over lawmakers’ health care benefits has been raging since the coverage expansion was passed in 2010. The law requires that members of Congress and their staffs sign up for coverage on the insurance marketplaces that opened Tuesday, kicking them off the federal health benefits system beginning 2014.

That has generated a secondary storm of controversy, over whether the members and their staff should continue receiving a federal employer contribution towards their premiums.

Federal rules, finalized this week, allow the government contributions to continue if members enroll in certain health plans offered through the marketplace designed for small businesses in the District of Columbia. The subsidy — worth up to $11,600 a yearcovers about 75 percent of total premium costs....

Holy crap! Some people don't even make that much in income in a year!

Related:

"Obama came to the rescue of members of Congress and their aides Friday, saying the federal government would continue paying a large share of their health insurance premiums. Ambiguous provisions of the health care law had created serious doubts about whether such contributions would continue."

I can now $ee why their panties were in a bunch and why they needed the dictator to save them.

All week, Republicans have seized upon the government health subsidy issue in their ongoing quest to gut Obama’s health law....

Yeah, bad Republicans "seizing" on things!

Democrats have dismissed the GOP attacks....

“It’s a distortion to say that members of Congress are getting some special treatment,” McGovern said. “We’re getting what most people who get employer-based health insurance get.”

C'mon, Jim!

Tsongas emphasized that all federal workers, not just those in Congress, receive the same employer health contributions. The subsidies are particularly meaningful for lower-paid staff members making $25,000 a year, she said. “It’s unfair to use Congress and our staff as a scapegoat as they try to defund Obamacare,” Tsongas said.

Yeah, poor, persecuted Congre$$! Too many AIPAC lobbyists roaming those halls and offices.

The health insurance marketplaces — online portals through which signing up for health insurance is supposed to be as easy as buying a plane ticket — are meant for people whose employers do not offer coverage, those who are currently uninsured, and small businesses.

Except it is not.

Did you know Obamacare ask for your bank routing number so they can take money directly out of your account? Failure to comply means you can not advance to sign up.

Congressional members and their staffs are the only group in the country working for a large employer who must obtain insurance through the marketplace, because of an amendment to the 2010 health law that was pushed by Senator Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican. Even Grassley has said he intended for the government contributions to apply towards purchasing coverage in the marketplace.

In another wrinkle, many Democrats have not even begun signing up for healthcare on the online marketplace, even though they championed the law. All members of Congress received a memo this week instructing them not to enroll in the marketplaces until mid-November, when their open enrollment period begins.

All the bugs and glitches will be out by then.

But many Republicans, eager to capitalize politically on technical glitches, began trying to sign up immediately....

Yeah, it's there fault because they listened to White House public relations that said get out there, get out there and check out the new Obamacare you hate but we know you will love! Go sign up now!

UPDATE:

"President Barack Obama used a surprise walk out of the White House Friday to get a sandwich. Obama strolled unannounced out of the White House gate, making his way along with Vice President Joe Biden a block up Pennsylvania Avenue to a Taylor Gourmet deli that was offering a discount to furloughed federal employees. Obama bristled responding to a reporters’ question about a quote in the Wall Street Journal from an anonymous senior administration official who reportedly said the White House was ‘‘winning’’ in the clash over the shutdown, and that the length of the shutdown ‘‘doesn’t really matter to us.’’ The walk came a day after a woman tried to ram her car through the White House’s outer security perimeter, then led police on a chase down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the Capitol, where she was shot and killed by police.

Except she didn't do that at all because the front of her car was undamaged.

A federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press the driver had the delusional belief the president was communicating with her. The harrowing car chase heightened tensions in the capital city already edgy from the effects of the shutdown and a mass shooting at the Washington Navy Yard nearly three weeks ago. Obama walked out of the White House on the far opposite side from where the driver tried to enter, with Secret Service agents following on all sides and putting up yellow tape to hold back onlookers. The president made the lunch run without the help of furloughed junior aides, who normally shepherd the media who constantly accompany Obama whenever he’s in public."

He didn't spring for the pre$$titutes lunches?

"Her mental condition, which had been deteriorating over the past 10 months, and concerns about her mental health were reported in the last year to Stamford police, the official said. Dr. Brian Evans, a periodontist in Hamden, Conn., said Carey worked as a hygienist in his office for about two years before she was fired a year ago. He would not go into detail about the reasons surrounding her departure."

Other details may catch your eye.
