The Baucus With China

Maybe he can bring the war rhetoric and threats to a chill:

"Obama is in search of a new top diplomat in Beijing as he executes a so-called Asia pivot in US foreign policy to more directly counter China after the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The relationship between the two nations has grown more troubled in recent weeks, with Chinese authorities unilaterally declaring an air defense zone over disputed islands in the East China Sea. Vice President Joe Biden sought to calm matters on his recent trip through Asia."

All they wanted to know was what planes are flying through and the US turned into a major flap complete with provocations. It is the East CHINA Sea, right?

So who did Obummer come up with?

"Baucus gets official nod as US envoy" Associated Press, December 21, 2013

WASHINGTON — Senator Max Baucus, the Montana Democrat who helped Republican George W. Bush win sweeping tax cuts, led the design of President Obama’s health law and then correctly predicted it would be a ‘‘train wreck,’’ is getting a diplomatic plum: Washington is shipping him to China.

Oh, so that whole income inequality thing traces back to Baucu$, 'eh?

And now he's been exiled to China so he can clear confirmation?

Obama said Friday he would nominate Baucus to be US ambassador to China. If confirmed by the Senate, Baucus would become the chamber’s latest contribution to the diplomatic corps, joining former Senator John Kerry, who is Obama’s secretary of state.

And he is doing a real bang-up job when Israel isn't pissing on him as he arrives (don't take it personally, they do it to all visiting guests).

Obama said Baucus has worked to deepen relations between the United States and China. “The economic agreements he helped forge have created millions of American jobs and added billions of dollars to our economy, and he’s perfectly suited to build on that progress in his new role,’’ the president said.

What world is he living in other than the globali$t bubble?

Baucus, 72, had decided not to seek reelection next year.

He was first elected to the Senate in 1978 after two terms in the House. Since 2007, he has chaired the Finance Committee, now the most powerful panel in the Senate with jurisdiction over taxes, trade, Social Security, and health care.
