Who Murdered Jennifer Rosoff?

"NYC woman killed in fall from balcony" New York Times   August 02, 2013

NEW YORK — A 35-year-old woman fell to her death from a balcony in Manhattan early Thursday after the railing apparently gave way, the authorities said.

The woman, identified by the police as Jennifer Rosoff, was found on top of construction scaffolding at the base of the building, at 400 E. 57th St. She lived on the 17th floor. The corner section of a metal railing on that floor appeared in photographs taken after her death to be bent downward.

Rosoff had been sitting on the railing of her balcony, smoking a cigarette and talking with a friend when the railing appeared to buckle, the friend told police, causing her to fall backward. Police said there did not appear to have been any foul play involved.

The death of Rosoff, described by a friend as “an A-player” in the competitive world of media advertising sales, rippled across cellphones and in-boxes of distraught friends and colleagues.

Rosoff, who had worked at Lucky magazine and The New Yorker, was currently at a social media start-up called TripleLift.
