Yes, there is a disconnect with me and the regional flagship these days:
Two firefighters die in Beacon Street blaze
The nine-alarm fire is worthy of the lead; however, I have been programmed to also blame the heroic firefighters, who truly do risk their lives to do what we all agree is a necessary service, for all the budget problems. Not the swindling banks, but the true public servants (although the police are veering off on this whole power trip deal).

That was page B3, and admittedly no one died; however, fires are covered in the paper every day and there are a lot of them so I just let them burn, in a manner of speaking (didn't read the articles noted, sorry. I can't cover everything and fires are one thing I had to put out.)
NEXT DAY UPDATE:
In Back Bay fire, a routine call rapidly turned to a crisis
Hunt begins for the cause of deadly fire
Intense wind gusts, older design blamed
Their singular calling is ingrained for life
Kennedy a quiet community presence
Walsh was dedicated to job
Firefighters Walsh and Kennedy put public safety over self
Latest tragedy casts pall over Back Bay
I saw something about the Back Bay being "fashionable, upscale shopping district" and I guess that does in fact fit with the focus (pages A1, A6-10). Not complaining, just recognizing.
