"Armed robbers steal $4m in gold from Mass.-bound truck" by Aneri PattaniGlobe Correspondent March 02, 2015
Armed robbers stole more than $4 million worth of gold bars in North Carolina Sunday from a truck headed to Massachusetts, officials said.
Two armed security guards were transporting barrels of silver and gold in a truck on Interstate 95 from Miami to Massachusetts when they pulled over because of mechanical issues at about 6:45 p.m., the Wilson County sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The guards were approached by three armed men in a white van, who ordered them out of the truck. The men tied the guards’ hands behind their backs and made them walk into the woods, the sheriff’s office said.
The thieves stole several barrels of gold and fled while the guards were still in the woods.
The Wilson County, N.C., sheriff’s office is investigating, along with the FBI. The FBI said its Charlotte, N.C., office has been notified and is working with local law enforcement officials to determine whether a federal crime has been committed.
The security guards were employed by TransValue Inc., a Miami-based company that is “dedicated to the international transportation of valuables between financial institutions,” according to its website.
In a statement, Transvalue chief executive officer Jay Rodriguez said the gold bars were headed to Attleboro, which is nicknamed ‘‘Jewelry City’’ for the large number of manufacturers based there, the Associated Press reported. The company is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

How odd that I never saw another word on an important story(?) that was buried at the bottom of page B8(?).
