"They accuse their northern counterparts of secretly arming some southern tribes to create instability"
Interesting, considering:
"Sudan: Israel arming Darfur rebels
Israel has supplied a rebel group involved in the Darfur conflict in Sudan with a considerable amount of weaponry, a new report says."
Gee, how did they do that?
"Some US officials fear the cargo aboard the MV Faina, which was seized by pirates Thursday, could end up in the hands of Al Qaeda-linked militants in Somalia.... But US officials, arms analysts, and maritime officials say the more likely original destination was southern Sudan, where the former rebel group Sudan
"Vadim Alperin was once quoted to be a "Mossad brother" running a number of clandestine front companies including one Kenyan Meat export company enjoying "good trade" with middle eastern countries covertly used for gathering intelligence from countries such as Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia"

"Tribal attack kills 76 in southern Sudan village" by Edmund Sanders, Los Angeles Times | September 22, 2009
KHARTOUM, Sudan - Ethnic fighting in southern Sudan claimed 76 lives during the weekend as tribal militias attacked the village of Duk Padiet, burning about 2,000 homes, officials said yesterday.
Among the dead were about two dozen government security officers who were defending the village, according to Major General Kuol Diem Kuol, spokesman for the southern Sudan army.
At least 46 people were injured and 1,800 were left homeless, he said. The raid was part of a surge of violence in southern Sudan that has killed more than 2,000 people since 2008 and displaced another 250,000, according to the United Nations.
Just when it looked like we might have peace.
Cattle-rustling and competition for food and land are blamed for much of the bloodshed.
Then why are they pointing the finger at the north?
“One attack leads to another, resulting in a spiral of attack and counterattacks,’’ said Lise Grande, the UN deputy resident humanitarian coordinator in southern Sudan, during a briefing in August. “The fact that these attacks are targeting civilians, mostly women and children, is a very disturbing trend.’’
Some government officials in southern Sudan, who fought a 21-year civil war against the north that ended in 2005, also see political motivations behind the fighting. They accuse their northern counterparts of secretly arming some southern tribes to create instability before a 2011 referendum in which southerners are expected to vote to secede from the north....

Leaders in Khartoum deny that assertion. Some analysts believe the violence may be driven by rival political parties jockeying for control of the oil-rich region. The latest violence pitted the Lou Nuer tribe against a Dinka village. Several thousand heavily armed raiders attacked Sunday.
I'm just not getting a northern feel to this.
So WHO DOESN'T want PEACE, folks? You see why she skipped Sudan. right?
