I mean, can you blame me?
"5 dead in blast at Conn. plant; Was being built; at least 12 hurt" by John M. Guilfoil and Michael Levenson, Globe Staff | February 8, 2010
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - A massive gas explosion rocked a nearly-completed power plant on the banks of the
Woah!
Authorities said the explosion occurred about 11:30 a.m. as workers at the Kleen Energy Systems plant were in the main power-generating room, conducting a test that involved blowing bursts of compressed air into gas pipes to remove dust and debris.
The explosion blasted apart the room, ignited a fire, and sent a plume of smoke billowing into the sky. The plant is in a relatively remote area of the city, but residents who live miles away reported hearing the blast and feeling tremors.
“It was like nothing I ever heard before,’’ said Karen Cwirka, who lives on the opposite side of the river from the plant, in Portland. “It shook everything. It sounded like a bomb went off.’’
We don't need "terrorists." We are doing it to ourselves.

Like I'm going to believe them? Cover-up artists and liars?
The $1 billion plant is one of the largest built in New England in recent years. It was about 95 percent complete and was to begin operations this summer....
And they want to build 25 or 30 NUCLEAR PLANTS around the nation?
Better start rethinking that one, America.
The rescue scene was chaotic, as dozens of firefighters, police officers, and ambulance crews descended on the plant, battled the blaze, and began a frantic search for survivors, using dogs to try to locate anyone in the rubble [and metal shrapnel].
And what was also [CUT] from the account in my paper:
"It felt like an earthquake, said Jamie Halliwell, who lives several miles from the plant.

Okay, no terrorism, just a tragic accident.
Then again, maybe not. I see the word criminal being brought out:
"Criminal inquiry launched into blast at Conn. plant" by John Christoffersen, Associated Press | February 9, 2010
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Authorities looking for the cause of an explosion that killed five people at a power plant under construction launched a criminal investigation yesterday, saying they could not rule out criminal negligence as the cause.
“If everything went right, we wouldn’t all be here right now,’’ Mayor Sebastian Giuliano said. “There’s a point where negligence raises to the level of criminal conduct, and that’s what we’re investigating.’’
The powerful explosion blew apart large swaths of the nearly completed 620-megawatt Kleen Energy plant as workers for the construction company O&G Industries Inc. were purging a gas line Sunday morning.
The mayor said rescue crews had been unable to get to all areas of the plant, and he could not say for certain that no more victims would be found. But authorities also said every worker assigned to work at the plant at the time of the explosion had been accounted for.
The men who died were identified by Middletown police yesterday as Peter Chetulis of Thomaston, Conn.; Ronald J. Crabb of Colchester, Conn.; Raymond Dobratz of Old Saybrook, Conn.; Chris Walters of Florissant, Mo.; and Roy Rushton of Hamilton, Ontario....
US Representatives Rosa DeLauro and Joe Courtney, both Democrats from Connecticut, said yesterday that they have received a commitment for a congressional hearing on the explosion. Courtney said he is concerned about the slow rule-making process at the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and believes that should be part of the discussions at the hearing.
More than two dozen people were injured in the blast [according to hospitals in the area].--more--"
And why the cut?
Most were treated and released and had injuries characteristic of being thrown or in an explosion, such as broken bones and bruises, said Melissa Brady, a spokeswoman for Middlesex Hospital.
Thank God it wasn't worse.
Sure you want that LNG terminal in Boston Harbor, Bostonians?
