US Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced yesterday the arrest of 476 reputed gang members, associates, and others - including 24 locally. The agency also seized dozens of guns during a sweep in 83 cities focused on transnational gangs with ties to drug trafficking. Locally, ICE agents teamed with local and state officials to arrest the 24 people, seven of whom were called known gang members. Of those arrested nationally, 151 were US citizens and 366 were foreign nationals and face deportation either now or when their criminal prosecution is complete.
