"Michelle Obama’s cause is obesity
WASHINGTON - Yesterday, in an afternoon interview that informally marked the beginning of her second year in the White House, Michelle Obama declared her intent in 2010 to lead the administration’s efforts to tackle the epidemic of childhood obesity.
Now this is a problem:
"Researchers calculated the body mass index - a standard measurement of size.... There is growing debate about the accuracy of the standard method of calculating whether someone is overweight.... the system would put nearly half of NBA players in the overweight category"
Translation: the measurement they are using to tell kids they are fat is BULLS***!!
So WHY would Michelle Obama want to DENY FOOD to HUNGRY PEOPLE and OUR CHILDREN?
1 in 7 Americans are hungry and they are talking obesity?
Of course, none of this is for them: Obama Talks With His Mouth Full
With a combination of advocacy and outreach to businesses, nonprofit organizations, and government officials, she said she intends to lead the nation in making children healthier.
“I want to leave something behind,’’ she said. “I hope that will be in the area of childhood obesity.’’ She will begin her campaign by addressing the nation’s mayors on the subject next week when they gather in Washington.
More for THEM and LESS for EVERYONE else?
Just like the Globalists they are and work for?

Just getting rid of USELESS EATERS, folks, no worry.
It's the First Lady; she must mean good, right?
During a conversation yesterday with reporters, Obama said that looking back at her first year at the White House, she was proudest and happiest that “my kids are sane.’’
“I’m happy that when I look at my daughters, I recognize them as the kids that they were before we got here.’’
And how many Muslim and Palestine children have died on your watch, lady?
Further, Obama said, there was nothing in the past year that she’d like a chance to do over. Not even for the state dinner honoring India that was marked by two uninvited guests - and possibly a third - and that has drawn mea culpas from the Secret Service, launched a grand jury investigation, and sparked criticism of the social secretary, Desiree Rogers, a longtime Chicago confidante of the first couple.
“The state dinner was an outstanding success. It’s just the follow-up after it. I look at the reporting on the state dinner and go: ‘Is that all that happened? Really,’’ she said.
Yeah, minimize the threat to your husband's life.

Or is because WE ALL KNOW and KNOW THEY KNOW that it is GOVERNMENT that is behind the "assassins" and "terrorists?"
I guess your hubby has GOTTEN the MESSAGE, huh?
Obama dismissed the suggestion that the security breach had left her especially unnerved. Of the Secret Service, she said: “These folks are good at what they do. But, with that said, the White House and the Secret Service are working to ensure that processes are in place so that something like that never happens again. And you know, I agree.’’
Better not!!!
She also played down the recently published remarks by the Senate majority leader, Harry M. Reid of Nevada, in which he described then-candidate Barack Obama’s presidential chances as much improved because he was a “light-skinned’’ African-American who had “no Negro dialect.’’
“Harry Reid had no need to apologize to me. Because I know Harry Reid. I measure people more so on what they do, rather than the things that they say,’’ she said.
Pfffft!
Related: Reid the Racist
But issues concerning race, particularly as it relates to her historic role as the nation’s first African-American wife of a president, is not something she takes lightly. “You feel this palpability of the change throughout the house and throughout the country.’’
It’s all part of the ongoing conversation about race that didn’t end with the election of an African-American president, she said.
“The problems aren’t solved,’’ she said. “But we’re still new at this. Civil rights, the movement, happened in my lifetime. It feels like it’s been a long time but it hasn’t.
“My great-great-great-grandmother was actually a slave. We’re still very connected to slavery in a way that’s very powerful. . . . That’s not very far away. I could have known that woman.
“We need to keep having conversations until we get it right.’’
Look at them TROTTING OUT the OLD DIVISIONS to try and get SYMPATHY for the new president over RACE!!
Lady, WE CARE about the POLICIES, not the SKIN COLOR!!!!!!

"Michelle Obama: A portrait of the first lady" by Nancy Benac, Associated Press | January 16, 2010
WASHINGTON — Every once in a while Michelle Obama checks in with old friends.
"Do you still recognize me?" she'll ask. "Do I still feel like Michelle?"
In the past year, the first lady's name has popped up on Forbes' "most powerful women" list, People's "most beautiful" list, Time's "most influential" list, Vanity Fair's "international best-dressed" list, Barbara Walters' "most fascinating" list. And so on.
Her every word, move, bite, gesture, dress and shoe has been analyzed and second-guessed.
Is she taking on too much? Why isn't she doing more?
Did she touch the queen first? Should her arms be bare? Are her shorts too short? Are her sneakers too expensive? Is she putting on weight?
"It wasn't something that I was prepared for," she said last week as she looked back on her first year as first lady.
The challenge, then, has been to remain Michelle through it all, and not become "somebody else that is in a magazine."
To stay grounded yet reach high.
This is a first lady, after all, who wants to make a difference, who dares to speak even now about her legacy.
She has spent the past year giving the job of first lady a test run, settling her family into a new life in a new town, trying to avoid creating controversy for her already burdened husband and figuring out where to make her mark.
Then you are not going to make a difference, and you already have controversy by lying to the kids and wanting to starve us slaves.
"Our goal was to do everything that was done before, so that we'd know what it was, and uphold those traditions, but try to tweak it," she told reporters last week. "And now that we've gone through a year, we can really think about really what works for this administration, what works for me as a first lady, what resonates with where America is today."
Looking back, then, here are a few moments that help to sketch the portrait of a first lady who calls herself a "110-percenter," always looking to do more.
So when do the wars end?
___
THE GARDENER
There she is, this Harvard-educated lawyer and former executive, digging up sweet potatoes on the back lawn of the White House.
Michelle Obama, gardener?
The first lady took her "pipe dream" of a modest kitchen garden and transformed it into a platform that she hopes will improve the lives of millions of young people.
The garden gave her a gentle way to start up a conversation about healthy eating that will get more pointed this year as she makes a head-on campaign against childhood obesity.
I guess that's why your husband's EPA is allowing corporations to hide poisonous chemicals from us, huh? What about pesticides, etc, in our food? F*** the FALSE ISSUE of obesity!
"We have a chance to change the fate of the next generation if we get on it," she says.
This is what Obama hopes will be her legacy.
Great. Said like a true globalist.
___
THE NURTURER
They could have been two girlfriends headed out to lunch: Michelle Obama and Queen Elizabeth, arm in arm, strolling in to a reception at Buckingham Palace in April.
It may have been the most closely watched touchy-feely gesture of the first lady's first year ("Astounding!" British wags called it), but it was hardly the only one.
Obama, whose husband is seen as a rather cool character, emerged as the nation's nurturer-in-chief.
So when do the wars based on lies stop then, lady?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
She hugs with reckless abandon, closing her eyes and enveloping school children, young women, ordinary Americans.
It fits with her larger mission of mentoring young people, giving them the confidence to rise, as she says, "from mediocrity to fabulousness."
The first lady started up her own mentoring program at the White House and is urging other Americans to do likewise.
"If there is a program that speaks fundamentally to who I am," she says, "it is this."
___
THE FASHIONISTA
Sigh. WTF?
The fascination with Michelle Obama's fashion choices started with her inaugural twirl in a white, one-shoulder Jason Wu gown and hasn't let up since.
The first lady's wardrobe — mixing trendsetting designs and off-the-rack cardigans — won her accolades from the fashion world.
She even held her own in a fashion face-off with French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, a former model, at the NATO summit in April.
Still, it must be said, there was the occasional howler.
Even her husband turned fashion critic at times, poking fun at what he calls her "Star Wars belt."
And it's a fair bet the first lady never meant to be photographed walking dog Bo on the South Lawn in those less-than-flattering Bermuda shorts.
The obsession with her wardrobe reflected the supersized scrutiny attached to everything about her.
No wonder she's a big fan of the presidential retreat at Camp David, far removed from any cameras.
___
THE SWAN
Hours before the Obamas' first state dinner, the first lady stood before young women participating in the White House mentoring program and made a confession of sorts.
"It's sort of like a swan, where we're kind of calm and serene above water — but we're paddling like mad, going crazy underneath, trying to look smooth," she said.
Much the way this god-damn government and its mouthpiece media operates.
Everything did seem perfectly in order that afternoon. The first lady's strapless, cream-colored evening gown was sure to be a knockout. A celebrity chef was trolling the garden for just the right herbs to garnish the evening's feast. A chandeliered tent on the South Lawn stood ready to receive 340 A-list guests.
Enter the party-crashing Salahis.
Somehow, without an invitation, the fame-seekers insinuated themselves into the scene and eventually overshadowed it.
The whole episode was emblematic of the outside forces that can upend things for a first lady who works from a carefully crafted script.
Looking back now, Obama dismisses the gate-crashers as a mere "footnote" to an otherwise wonderful evening.
Translation: Obama is with the program.
So WHEN is the NEXT FALSE-FLAG "terror event," to JUSTIFY ANOTHER LYING WAR, Obombers?
Maybe something like this to be blamed on them?
At the time, though, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs described her as angry.
Yup, EVEN SHE is a LIAR, America!!!
___
THE GOOD WIFE
Aaaaaw.
It's where she started as first lady and where it all will end: Michelle Obama is a wife and mother.
She has spent the past year figuring out how to be a very public role model, policy advocate and mentor without losing hold of that.
She's tried to be the perfect example without suggesting she's perfect.
When she sat for an Oval Office interview about marriage with her husband last fall — something of a novelty in itself — she insisted that bumps are inevitable, even continuous, in any relationship.
"The last thing we want to project," she said then, is the image of a perfect marriage.
No, you wouldn't want to do that.
How well do you think that went over at the White House, Americans?
She is ONLY SIXTEEN!
Ask her what she's most proud of in the past year, and she doesn't hesitate: "That my kids are sane," she says.
One wonders how all those Muslim kids are doing with maimed and dead parents courtesy of this guy.
And sanity can be a precious commodity when one's life gets this level of scrutiny.
Even the smallest choices go under the microscope.
When Sasha and Malia got their swine flu vaccinations last fall, the first family was trying to set an example for the country.
Instead, instantly there were howls that the girls had gotten preferential treatment, that they had somehow jumped the line — even though the first family made sure the girls got their vaccine only after it was broadly available to schoolchildren in the District of Columbia.
Not only that, they got it after public gripping on the blogosphere that they had not.
But don't worry, they got the clean vaccine, not the poison potion they injected you with, public.
Last fall, a high school student in Denver asked what was the hardest thing about being first lady.
She gestured toward the ever-present bank of news cameras and said it was "making sure my girls don't get lost in all this."
"I want to make sure they come out of this as whole as possible," she said.
She was talking about Sasha and Malia. She could have been talking about herself.
But definitely not Muslims in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Yeah, that was in the NEWS SECTION of my Sunday paper.
WASHINGTON - The findings provide new evidence underscoring the health threat posed by the nation’s obesity epidemic.
The findings come as Michelle Obama has revealed plans to help lead the nation’s efforts to reduce childhood obesity.
Translation: it is an AGENDA-PUSHING STUDY PUT OUT JUST IN TIME!!!!!!
And then turned into "news."
During a speech Wednesday to the US Conference of Mayors, Obama called for better eating habits, improved nutrition, and more physical activity.

And this whole "obesity" thing is coming as PEOPLE are using MORE FOOD STAMPS!!!!!
"6 million try to live on no income but food stamps; Many US jobless lack cash benefits" by Jason DeParle and Robert M. Gebeloff, New York Times | January 3, 2010
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - After an improbable rise from the Bronx projects to a job selling Gulf Coast homes, Isabel Bermudez lost it all to an epic housing bust - the six-figure income, the house with the pool, and the investment property.
Now, as she covers the county with resumes and girds herself for rejection, she is supporting two daughters on an income that inspires a double take: zero dollars in monthly cash and a few hundred dollars in food stamps.
With food stamp use at a record high and surging by the day, Bermudez belongs to an overlooked subgroup that is growing especially fast: recipients with no cash income.
About 6 million Americans receiving food stamps report they have no other income, according to an analysis of state data collected by The New York Times.
Amazing. And the example they find is some real estate richer.
In declarations that states verify and the federal government audits, they described themselves as unemployed and receiving no cash aid - no welfare, no unemployment insurance, and no pensions, child support or disability pay.
THAT'S ME!!!! And I'm not even getting food stamps! I'm living off the few meager savings of my entire life. Soon it will be time to take a slave wage job again.
Their numbers were rising before the recession as tougher welfare laws made it harder for poor people to get cash aid, but they have soared by about 50 percent over the past two years. About one in 50 Americans now lives in a household with a reported income that consists of nothing but a food stamp card.
That's 6 MILLION PEOPLE!!!!
“It’s the one thing I can count on every month - I know the children are going to have food,’’ Bermudez, 42, said with the forced good cheer she mastered selling rows of new homes.
I feel like I have had to do that my whole life -- and still do. I guess that accounts for the rage here, huh, readers?
Members of this straitened group range from displaced strivers like Bermudez to weathered men who sleep in shelters and barter cigarettes. Some draw on savings or sporadic under-the-table jobs. Some move in with relatives. Some get noncash help, such as subsidized apartments. While some go without cash incomes only briefly before securing jobs or aid, others rely on food stamps alone for many months.
And BANKERS get BILLIONS in TAXPAYER BONUSES!
The surge in this precarious way of life has been so swift that few policymakers have noticed.
Why would they?
They are surrounding by bankers and their interest, not ours.
And I'm not falling for the PR campaign by the president. You had A YEAR ALREADY and NOTHING WAS DONE as they LOOTED US DRY!!!!
But it attests to the growing role of food stamps within the safety net. One in 8 Americans now receives food stamps, including one in four children....
What safety net?
BANK BAILOUTS and WAR-LOOTER COST OVERRUNS that are unquestioningly paid?
A strapping man who once made a living throwing fastballs, William Trapani, 53, left his dreams on the minor league mound and his front teeth in prison, where he spent nine years for selling cocaine. Now he sleeps at a rescue mission, repairs bicycles for small change, and counts $200 in food stamps as his only secure support.
“I’ve been out looking for work every day - there’s absolutely nothing,’’ he said....
You are not reading the newspapers then!! Recovery is steaming right along!
Yeah, TWO-THIRDS of the way into the piece we finally get some TRUTH!
Of course, BANKS and WARS get PLENTY of CASH SUPPORT!!!
Unemployment insurance has rapidly grown, but still omits nearly half the unemployed. Food stamps, easier to get, have become the safety net of last resort.
“The food stamp program is being asked to do too much,’’ said James Weill, president of the Food Research and Action Center, a Washington advocacy group. “People need income support.’’
They are getting it -- if you are a BANKER, WAR-LOOTER, or WELL-CONNECTED CORPORATION!
Food stamps, officially the called Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, have taken on a greater role in the safety net for several reasons. Because the benefit buys only food, it draws less suspicion of abuse than cash aid and more political support.
Of course, WE DON'T KNOW WHERE the BANK and WAR LOOT went, but just pay the man!
And the federal government pays for the whole benefit, giving states reason to maximize enrollment. States typically share in other programs’ costs....
With their condition mostly overlooked, there is little data on how long these households go without cash incomes or what other resources they have. But they appear an eclectic lot....
I'm sick of the insults.
Btw, fyi, NYT: It's been YEARS!!! Sponging off relatives sucks!
--more---"
Yeah, but we have an obesity epidemic out there!
Only in the HALLS of POWER and the PRIVATE, STRING-PULLING CLUBS!
Ever see THOSE FAT ASSES?!!
And THEY are TELLING YOU that YOU are OBESE, American?
And just think. YOU PAID for THEIR MEAL!
Related:
"Schools are a good place to screen children"
Ooooooh, THAT is what it is ALL ABOUT!
It is NOT ABOUT EJERKASHEN or CRITICAL THINKING for the kid; it is about USING the SCHOOL to MONITOR THEM!
Just getting you UP to SPEED on the TOTALITARIAN TYRANNY they are constructing for you kids!
And SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE about First Ladies:
"$8.8b to assist military families
Yeah, not that they don't deserve it; however, what about the rest of us?
WASHINGTON - Michelle Obama said yesterday that the president’s 2011 budget will include a record $8.8 billion to support military families.
So where exactly is he going to cut? WTF?!!
How about STOPPING the WARS instead?
The biggest increases would be for child care, counseling, and other services.
Which wouldn't be needed without the lying wars!
She spent her first year in the White House visiting military installations and talking to military families about their needs and concerns, then sharing what she heard with her staff and members of the administration....
“These are all major investments,’’ Obama said at a luncheon for military spouses at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington. “They are the result of military families speaking up and being heard. And they are part of a larger, ongoing commitment to care for our troops and their families even after the fighting ends.’’
Yeah, WHEN is that going to be EXACTLY?
We ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING a LONG, LONG, TIME and are LOSING PATIENCE with YOU and your husband!
I have grown to DISLIKE HIM MORE in a shorter period of time than George Bush -- and THAT is saying something because I never liked a Bush and never voted for one!

And WHY NOT BURY THIS at the bottom-right of page B4, 'eh, Globe?
"Study finds use of food pantries soaring in Mass.; Need for help rose 23 percent" by David Abel, Globe Staff | February 3, 2010
Nearly 1 in 10 state residents relied on a food pantry, soup kitchen, or shelter last year, a 23 percent increase over 2006, according to a new survey of food banks in Massachusetts.
Goodbye, Governor Patrick.
Feeding America, a network of 200 food banks nationwide, estimated that more than 571,000 state residents relied on food assistance last year.
The state’s food banks distributed 44.7 million pounds of food last year, a 30 percent increase from 2006, reflecting a spike in demand as unemployment and poverty have surged during the recession.
One of those recipients of food assistance is Tom La Masture, 72, who lives with his wife in Lowell and who said they struggle to survive on $2,000 a month they receive from Social Security. La Masture, a retired document checker for an engineering firm, is a diabetic who suffers from a heart ailment. He has been visiting local food pantries for the past two years, since the money ran out from the sale of the couple’s home in California.
“We wouldn’t be eating if we didn’t go to a food pantry,’’ said La Masture, who has to use most of the couple’s income for rent and medication. “Our income just isn’t enough.’’
Not that I'm not understanding of their plight because $500 a week doesn't get it done, but they SOLD a HOME, huh?
The next question is WERE YOU ABLE to KEEP YOURS, Americans?
So THIS is who the MSM finds for an example?
How many Americans own TWO HOMES -- if they are "lucky" enough to have one?
The study was part of a national survey of food banks that found that more than 37 million Americans, including 14 million children and nearly 3 million seniors, received emergency food assistance last year, a 46 percent increase since the organization’s last study in 2006.
But we are all fat as hell!!!!
And it is NOT ONLY Massachusetts but a NATIONAL SURVEY?
Then WHY is it BURIED in METRO!!!????
“The picture painted by these studies is simply heartbreaking,’’ said Catherine D’Amato, president and chief executive of the Greater Boston Food Bank, which provides food to about 83,000 people a week. “They show how families are suffering and struggling to make ends meet during a time of economic distress. While we are providing more food than ever, this is still simply not enough.’’
But BANKS and WARS get BILLIONS!!!!
Btw, I find reading the paper every day heartbreaking.
The study also found that more than 1 in 3 families receiving food assistance reported experiencing hunger, a 54 percent increase from 2006....
But let's clamp down on childhood obesity.
“Millions of our clients are families with children finding themselves in need of food assistance for the very first time.’’
For many families receiving food assistance, there’s a stigma.
Jessie, a 28-year-old mother of three young children from Boxborough, did not want her last name used because she was afraid others might look down on her for relying on food pantries.
And for GOOD REASON!
The recently laid-off employee of a biotechnology firm said she stopped seeking food from pantries in Sudbury and Stowe because she felt people questioned why she was there. “We just got looked down upon,’’ she said.
Now a hostess at a Bickford’s, she and her husband, who was also recently laid off from a job as a manager at a Valvoline shop, together earn less than $25,000 a year. They say they have to seek food assistance.
We have veterans who are homeless and on the street, and yet SOME LOOTER from BIOTECH is LOOTING the FOOD PANTRY while THEY HAVE JOBS and a ROOF!!!!!
NO WONDER there is NO FOOD and PEOPLE are HUNGRY!!! The RICH PEOPLE are STEALING IT ALL -- even from the FOOD PANTRY!!!!!!!!!
“It’s a humbling experience, but I’m really grateful that it’s there and it’s helping us,’’ she said, noting they found another food pantry in Acton. “It’s nice that there are people who aren’t judging us because of where we are in our lives.’’
I'm SICK of the f***ing ELITE INSULTS, a**hole MSM!!!
