Your Friendly Neighborhood Abortion Clinic

Would you want one in your neighborhood?

Next to schools?

"Brookline neighbors oppose move by women’s health clinic" by Brock Parker, Globe Correspondent | February 6, 2010

A Brookline women’s health clinic that provides abortions will relocate Tuesday, moving into a neighborhood that includes a preschool, a public elementary school, and a piano store.

The town has painted lines near the clinic to demarcate a “buffer zone’’ to keep protesters at least 35 feet away from the entrance. Brookline police say they will keep a close eye on the area for protests next week, though they had not received word of any demonstrations yesterday.....

More tax dollars needed, right?

Yeah, I guess I fail the tea-bag test since I'm of the Ron Paul view here.

Then why does the MSM keep bringing it up!?

Antiabortion protestors held multiple demonstrations at the Harvard Street location and at Town Hall last spring when Women’s Health Services announced its plan to relocate. The protests worried some neighbors, who in July filed a lawsuit against the town seeking to prevent the clinic from relocating to the area.

The lawsuit says that abortion protestors frightened and disturbed some of the “approximately 900 children’’ in prekindergarten through Grade 8 that use nearby schools. As many as 50 people participated in one protest, including one dressed in a Grim Reaper costume, opponents have said.

Yeah, you gotta protect the kids! But scooping 'em out is okay.

The plaintiffs in the suit, including a mix of neighborhood residents, the director of nearby preschool, and local businesses, are appealing a Zoning Board of Appeal’s decision in May that approved the clinic’s move.

Brookline Town Counsel Jennifer Dopazo Gilbert said the lawsuit filed by neighbors in Norfolk Superior Court was dismissed on a technicality, but the neighbors are now appealing to a higher court.

Thomas May, the attorney representing the neighbors, did not return phone calls requesting comment yesterday.

Dr. Laurent Delli-Bovi, who owns Women’s Health Services, has said that the clinic needs to relocate because it can no longer afford the rent in Chestnut Hill.

The lawsuit filed by neighbors also says that the 35-foot buffer zone required for protests at abortion clinics would place demonstrators directly in front of the entrances to adjacent businesses.

Lieutenant Phil Harrington, a spokesman for the police department. said the town also removed three parking meters from inside the buffer zone this week. The parking spots will now be limited to 5-minute drop off spots....

So increased patrols with less tax revenue? They can't find anywhere else?

--more--"

Also wondering when the will of the people is going to be heard just once in AmeriKa, and I doubt it will be here.
