WASHINGTON — The cost to build America’s next-generation fighter jet has doubled to as much as $113 million per plane since 2001, the Pentagon said yesterday.
The bad news about the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program, delivered to Congress, was swiftly denounced by lawmakers who said runaway spending on major weapons systems has become all too common....
Right, like Congress is really interested in scaling back the war looting.

Congress now waiting for their campaign kickbacks, 'er, contributions.
The program also calls into question whether defense companies are winning contracts by bidding low, only to raise costs later.
That has been going on for DECADES!
If Congress was really interested in stopping this they would have by now.
The jets were supposed to cost $50 million per fighter nearly a decade ago. Some of the increase can be attributed to inflation and a spike in the price of certain materials.
I really don't want to hear any more f***ing excuses.
According to congressional watchdogs at the Government Accountability Office, plans to buy 2,450 aircraft will cost the military $323 billion — almost half of what the Pentagon spends each year.
So when will the "defense" budget hit $1 TRILLION, readers?!
Defense officials say the sophisticated jets are critical to modern warfare and desperately needed to replace fighter fleets in each of the services.
So we can SUBJUGATE the PLANET and BOMB IT INTO OBLIVION if we don't get our way!
