What strikes me is the LIES that the government, industry, and media fed you at the start of this HISTORIC CATASTROPHE!!

Is it NOT a STRANGE COINCIDENCE that AFTER that action, the rig fell and leak began?
It is as if GOD REACHED DOWN with a finger and tipped it over himself.
Why is NO ONE in LEADERSHIP listening?
"Race to plug leaking oil well off La. spurs new tactics; More drilling, undersea dome could be tried" by Cain Burdeau, Associated Press | April 27, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Crews raced to protect the Gulf of Mexico coastline yesterday as a remote sub tried to shut off an underwater oil well that is gushing 42,000 gallons a day from the site of a wrecked drilling platform.
If crews cannot stop the leak quickly, they might have to drill another well to redirect the oil, a laborious process that could take about two months while oil washes up along a broad stretch of shore, from the white-sand beaches of Florida’s Panhandle to the swamps of Louisiana.
This is a DISASTER of EPIC PROPORTIONS!!!!
The oil, which could reach shore in as little as three days, is escaping from two leaks in a drilling pipe about 5,000 feet below the surface. The spill has grown to more than 1,800 square miles, or an area larger than Rhode Island.
And it is GETTING BIGGER as I TYPE THIS!
Eventually the WHOLE GULF will be covered and then a SPARK will FULFILL SOME PROPHECY, something about a lake of fire.
Winds and currents can change rapidly and drastically, so officials were hesitant to give any longer forecasts for where the spill will head.
No one cares what those liars have to say anymore; they already assured us damage was minimal.
Hundreds of miles of coastline in four states are threatened, with waters that are home to dolphins and sea birds. The areas also hold prime fishing grounds and are popular with tourists.
The oil began spewing out of the sea floor after the rig Deepwater Horizon exploded April 20 and sank two days later about 40 miles off the Mississippi River delta.....
As of yesterday afternoon, an area 48 miles long and 39 miles wide was covered by oil that leaked from the site of the rig....
And it is getting BIGGER EVERY SECOND!!
Crews used robot submarines to activate valves in hopes of stopping the leaks, but they may not know until today if that strategy will work. BP also mobilized two rigs to drill a relief well if needed. Such a well could help redirect the oil, though it could also take weeks to complete, especially at that depth.
BP plans to collect leaking oil on the ocean bottom by lowering a large dome to capture the oil and then pumping it through pipes and hoses into a vessel on the surface, said Doug Suttles, chief operating officer of BP Exploration and Production. It could take up to a month to get the equipment in place.
“That system has been deployed in shallower water, but it has never been deployed at 5,000 feet of water, so we have to be careful,’’ he said.
As the crud laps up on shore, huh?
Oh, America!!!
This is WAY WORSE than KATRINA!!!!
The spill, moving slowly north and spreading east and west.... The Coast Guard said kinks in the pipe were helping stem the flow of oil. Viewed from the air, the oil spill reached as far as the eye could see. There was little evidence of a major cleanup, with only a handful of vessels near the site of the leak.
Yup, GOVERNMENT and INDUSTRY (as well as MSM before this) was LYING TO YOU AGAIN, Americans!!!!
The oil sheen was of a light-blue color, translucent and blending with the water, but a distinct edge between the oil slick and the sea could be seen stretching for miles.
George Crozier, oceanographer and executive director at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab in Alabama, said Pensacola, Fla., is probably the eastern edge of the threatened area, though no one really knows what the effects will be. “We’ve never seen anything like this magnitude,’’ he said.
Concern yesterday focused on the Chandeleur and Breton barrier islands in Louisiana, where thousands of birds are nesting. Oil makes it difficult for birds to fly or float on the water’s surface. Plant life can also suffer serious harm. Whales have been spotted near the oil spill, though they did not seem to be in any distress.
Not yet anyway.
So what happens to wail when is covered in oil and some gets into his blowhole?
The spill also threatened oyster beds in Breton Sound on the eastern side of the Mississippi River. Harvesters could only watch and wait.
“That’s our main oyster-producing area,’’ said John Tesvich, a fourth-generation oyster farmer with Port Sulphur Fisheries Co. His company has about 4,000 acres of oyster grounds that could be affected if the spill worsens.
If the oyster grounds are affected, thousands of fishermen, packers, and processors might have to curtail operations. Worse, he said, this is spawning season, and contamination could affect young oysters.
Yup, an INDUSTRY DESTROYED because of this -- as well as LIFE ITSELF!
If the oil continues oozing north, the white-sand beaches in Mississippi, Alabama, and west Florida could be fouled, too....
Was it worth it, America?

"Oil rig explodes off La.; 11 missing, 17 hurt" by Kevin McGill, Associated Press Writer | April 21, 2010
NEW ORLEANS --The Coast Guard by sea and air planned to search overnight for 11 workers missing since a thunderous explosion rocked an oil drilling platform that continued to burn late Wednesday, more than a day since it sent a fireball into the night sky.
I'm wondering why the steel didn't melt.
Seventeen people were injured, four critically. The blast Tuesday night aboard the Deepwater Horizon rig 50 miles off the Louisiana coast could prove to be one of the nation's deadliest offshore drilling accidents of the past half-century....
Authorities could not say when the flames might die out on the 400-by-250-foot rig, which is roughly twice the size of a football field. A column of boiling black smoke rose hundreds of feet over the Gulf of Mexico as fireboats shot streams of water at the blaze.
Like the smoke gushing out of the trade towers on 9/11.
Adrian Rose, vice president of Transocean, said the explosion appeared to be a blowout, in which natural gas or oil forces its way up a well pipe and smashes the equipment. But precisely what went wrong was under investigation. Crews were doing routine work before the explosion and there were no signs of trouble, Rose said....
I wonder if we will ever hear back on this investigation.

Still waiting. I read the Globe every day, and so far.... zilch.
The rig was tilting as much as 10 degrees after the blast, but earlier fears that it might topple over appeared unfounded. Officials said the damage to the environment appeared minimal so far.
Why must the instant reaction of government and industry be lying?
The rig, which was under contract to the oil giant BP, was doing exploratory drilling but was not in production, Transocean spokesman Greg Panagos said....
Makes you want to go sign up as Obama opens the waters, 'eh?
What the printed paper left on the cutting room floor:
There are 42 rigs either drilling or doing upgrades and maintenance in depths of 1,000 feet or greater in the Gulf of Mexico, according to the agency. They employ an estimated 35,000 people. Transocean has 14 rigs in the Gulf and 140 worldwide.
The deadliest offshore drilling accident took place in 1988, when an Occidental Petroleum platform about 120 miles off Aberdeen, Scotland, was rocked by explosions and fire. A total of 167 men were killed.

"Burning oil rig sinks, setting stage for big spill" by Kevin McGill and Holbrook Mohr, Associated Press Writers | April 22, 2010
NEW ORLEANS --A deepwater oil platform that burned for more than a day after a massive explosion sank into the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, creating the potential for a major spill as it underscored the slim chances that the 11 workers still missing survived.
So what was said above about toppling and minimal environmental threat was bull, huh?
And THIS is the REAL THREAT, readers -- not some fart-misting fraud!
The sinking of the Deepwater Horizon, which burned violently until the gulf itself extinguished the fire, could unleash more than 300,000 of gallons of crude a day into the water. The environmental hazards would be greatest if the spill were to reach the Louisiana coast, some 50 miles away....
Oh, THIS is a MAJOR CATASTROPHE for the GULF, and I can't help hearing a certain higher power whispering again!
As the rig burned, supply vessels shot water into it to try to keep it afloat and avoid an oil spill, but there were additional explosions Thursday.
Did someone bring it down on purpose?
Officials had previously said the environmental damage appeared minimal, but new challenges have arisen now that the platform has sunk. The well could be spilling up to 336,000 gallons of crude oil a day, Coast Guard Petty Officer Katherine McNamara said....
Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mary Landry said crews saw a 1-mile-by-5-mile rainbow sheen with a dark center of what appeared to be a crude oil mix on the surface of the water. She said there wasn't any evidence crude oil was coming out after the rig sank, but officials also aren't sure what's going on underwater....
Cynthia Sarthou, executive director of the Gulf Restoration Network, said "If it gets landward, it could be a disaster in the making."
I think it ALREADY IS a DISASTER!
The well will need to be capped off underwater. Coast Guard Petty Officer Ashley Butler said crews were prepared for the platform to sink and had the equipment at the site to limit the environmental damage. Oil giant
The explosion is not expected to have a major impact on the oil industry....
The explosion came less than a month after President Barack Obama's decision to open portions of the East Coast to oil and gas exploration, and opponents of the move have seized on the blast as a reason to reverse course....
Crews searching for the missing workers, meanwhile, have covered the 1,940-square-mile search area by air 12 times and by boat five times. The boats searched all night....

"Oil drilling accidents prompting new safety rules" by Kevin McGill and Noaki Schwartz, Associated Press Writers | April 23, 2010
NEW ORLEANS --Federal regulators did not need this week's explosion aboard a state-of-the-art rig to know the offshore drilling industry needed new safety rules: Dozens of deaths and hundreds of injuries over the last several years had already convinced them that changes were needed....
And looking at this I am so sick of rewrites and reedits in my newspaper and on the web. WTF are they hiding, anyway?
On Friday, Coast Guard officials suspended the three-day search for 11 workers missing since an explosion rocked the Deepwater Horizon, saying they believe the men never made it off the platform that erupted into a giant fireball. Coast Guard Capt. Peter Troedsson said he spoke with all the workers' families about the decision to suspend the search before announcing it to the media....
As the search was ending, oil company crews were trying to clean up the environmental mess created by the Deepwater Horizon, which finally sank Thursday....
Opponents of President Barack Obama's plan for more offshore drilling, particularly off the East Coast, say the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon should be taken as a warning to slow the fervor to "drill, baby drill."
Obama showed no sign of budging Friday. Spokesman Robert Gibbs said the president still believes increasing domestic oil production can be done safely, securely and without harming the environment....
Yup, GOD is SIGNALING to these people and they JUST WON'T HERE IT!!!
Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry said no oil appeared to be leaking from a well head at the ocean floor, nor was any leaking at the water's surface. But she said crews were closely monitoring the rig for any more crude that might spill out.
Have you HAD ENOUGH LYING, dear Americans?
About half a dozen boats were using booms to trap the thin sheen, which extended about seven miles north of the rig site. There was no sign of wildlife being affected; the Louisiana coast is about 50 miles away.
Sigh. Not yet anyway.
Strange how they can warn us about "terrorists" or "global warming," but don't want to make the call here until it is past time.
Strong winds were blowing generally from the south as a cold front approached from Texas. The passage of the front late Friday or Saturday was expected to shift winds to the north, which could push the sheen away from the coast. Crews were trying to contain what spilled and prevent any threat to the coast's fragile coastal wetlands -- nurseries for fish and shrimp and habitat for birds....
Yeah, this is a DISASTER of EPIC PROPORTIONS, follks!!

"Well from sunken rig leaking oil; Weather halts cleanup effort" by Cain Burdeau, Associated Press | April 25, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard discovered yesterday that oil is leaking from the damaged well that fed a massive rig that exploded last week off Louisiana’s coast, while bad weather halted efforts to clean up the mess that threatens the area’s fragile marine ecosystem.
As recently as Friday, the Coast Guard said no oil appeared to escaping from the well head on the ocean floor. Rear Admiral Mary Landry said the leak was a new discovery but could have begun when the rig sank on Thursday, two days after the initial explosion....
Translation: GOVERNMENT LIED!
My FIRST THOUGHT when I heard it fell over was WHERE will the OIL GO!!!!!
Coast Guard and company officials estimate that as much as 1,000 barrels of oil is escaping each day after studying information from remotely operated vehicles and the size of the oil slick surrounding the blast site. The rainbow-colored sheen of oil stretched 20 miles by 20 miles yesterday — about 25 times larger than it appeared to be a day earlier, Landry said.
You were being lied to, America, so you wouldn't get angry or upset.
Eleven workers are still missing from the Deepwater Horizon rig that sank Thursday about 50 miles from Louisiana’s coast. They are presumed dead, and the search for them was called off Friday.
I'm no longer interested in MSM excuses or explanations for incompetent industry and government.
Coast Guard Petty Officer John Edwards was uncertain when weather conditions would improve enough for the cleanup to resume....
--more--""Robot subs try to shut leaking oil well" by Associated Press | April 26, 2010
NEW ORLEANS — Crews were using a robot submarine yesterday to try to stop an oil leak nearly a mile below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico, but officials said it would take at least another day before they knew whether the job was completed.
The Coast Guard said the oil spill was expected to stay 30 miles off the coast for the next three days, but officials are still keeping a watchful eye because the slick has the potential to threaten shores from Louisiana to Florida. Officials said they were trying to stop the flow by using robot submarines to activate valves at the well head, but that would take 24 to 36 hours to complete. If that doesn’t work, crews are also planning to drill a relief well to cut off the flow, which could take several months.
By which time the WHOLE GULF will be COVERED in OIL!!!
What appeared to a manageable spill a couple of days ago after an oil rig exploded and sank off the Louisiana coast Tuesday, has now turned into a more serious environmental problem.
You were BEING LIED TO, America!!!
The new leak was discovered Saturday, and as much as 1,000 barrels — or 42,000 gallons — of oil is leaking each day, Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry said.
The new leak is troubling for the fragile ecosystem of shrimp, fish, birds, and coral.
“What crude oil tends to do is float to surface and then under wave action it turns into what looks like chocolate mousse and sinks. It’s way too early to tell’’ the impact, said James Cowan, an oceanography and coastal sciences professor at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
The initial spill occurred during the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon about 50 miles off the Louisiana coast.....
Odd; I always feel like I'm covered in oil after reading the Boston Globe or watching MSM news on television.
Probably why the set is off as I work here.
Update: Feds may set Gulf oil slick ablaze
Fulfilling prophecy.
