WASHINGTON — Afghan leader Hamid Karzai made his remarks days after President Obama met with him for 25 minutes during a surprise visit to Afghanistan. Obama and US officials have been pressing Karzai to crack down more aggressively on corruption, which is systemic through much of his government.
