Slow Saturday Special: U.S. Senate is Racist

Everyone knows that; look at how they treated the lone black guy.

More evidence:

"Senate again refuses to pay $1.2b owed to black farmers" by Mary Clare Jalonick, Associated Press | July 24, 2010

WASHINGTON — Black farmers, due $1.2 billion for a legacy of discrimination by the Agriculture Department, suffered a new and disheartening setback this week, despite the national spotlight provided by the quickly disavowed firing of a black department worker.

The Senate refused again to pay the bill.

But they can FIND $60 BILLION for the WARS!!!

Opponents say it’s a question of where the money would come from, and that is a major issue with an election nearing and voters angry about federal spending.

I don't know, AID to ISRAEL?

And they sure like to use that excuse whenever it is convenient, 'eh?

Late Thursday, the Senate stripped $1.2 billion for the claims from an emergency spending bill, along with $3.4 billion in long-overdue funding for a settlement with American Indians who say they were swindled out of royalties by the federal government.

We kill most of them and then do not pay for the Holocaust.

This is the great America I was told about?

Of course, it's okay if oil companies swindle the government (in this case you, taxpayers).

Even the attention the Shirley Sherrod case brought to the issue of discrimination at the Agriculture Department couldn’t unite lawmakers on a deal.

Nope, only over wars, Israel, banks, and corporations can they unite -- even as the American people are united in opposition to those things and in favor of schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, etc, etc.

Instead, Republicans and Democrats alike proclaimed their support for the funding — appeasing important constituencies — while blaming the other side for not getting anything done.

That is WHY MOST INCUMBENTS are going to get the BOOT in NOVEMBER!!!!

The result: Thousands of black farmers and Indian landowners will keep waiting for checks that most lawmakers agree should have been written years ago....

First the unemployment and now this.

Of course, it it were Israel or the Pentagon they would be moving swiftly to cut a check.

Sherrod’s resignation under pressure from the Agriculture Department over her comments about race, and the subsequent White House apology, renewed attention to the black farmers’ claims....

Yeah, that was all a staged set-up and a roundabout way to draw attention -- especially when it was a white farmer that was being discriminated against (at least, that is the myth left in the public mind; she actually helped the guy save his farm).

So they couldn't find a few billion for the Black or Red Man, 'eh, readers?

But they could FIND PLENTY for Obomber's SURGE!!

"Senate kills add-ons to war-funding bill; House had sought aid for students, jobs" by Andrew Taylor, Associated Press | July 24, 2010

WASHINGTON — After a take-it-or-leave-it vote by the Senate, House Democrats face little choice but to drop billions in aid for schools, college students, and others that they had hoped to add to legislation paying for President Obama’s troop surge in Afghanistan....

Where is the change, America?

The Senate measure is limited chiefly to war funding, foreign aid, medical care for Vietnam War veterans exposed to Agent Orange, and almost empty disaster aid accounts.

You know where that foreign aid is going.

It would bring the amount of money appropriated for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan above $1 trillion.

And FOR WHAT?

Eleven Senate Democrats and independent Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut voted against the House version of the bill. No Republican supported it.

With the appropriate flip of a certain finger, I'm sure.

The moves repel a long-shot bid by House Democrats earlier this month to resurrect their faltering jobs agenda with $10 billion in grants to school districts to avoid teacher layoffs, $5 billion for Pell Grants to low-income college students, $1 billion for a summer jobs program, and $700 million to improve security along the Mexico border.

And the WARS are getting HOW MUCH?

The Senate measure is expected to be grudgingly accepted by House Democrats next week despite opposition from liberals who oppose the war in Afghanistan.

Then WHAT GOOD ARE THEY?

First HEALTH CARE and NOW THIS?

A spokesman for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat, would not comment on whether the House would approve the Senate measure and send it on to Obama.

So when you going to sneak it through, Madame Speaker?

The pressure to do so is intense, especially after Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned lawmakers this week that unless the measure is enacted into law before Congress leaves for its August recess, the Pentagon could have to furlough thousands of employees.

GOOD!!

Maybe that will SLOW DOWN the WARS a little and PREVENT any NEW ONES!!

And THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME there is even the SLIGHTEST HOLD UP in WAR FUNDING!!

Sig Heil, Senor Gates -- and here is your check.

Of course, THEY DON'T CARE about the 8 MILLION who have been FURLOUGHED PERMANENTLY by this s*** economy!

Oh, right, RECRUITING LINE i RIGHT OVER THERE!!!!

Looks like a FUN JOB, doesn't it?

The House bill also attracted a White House veto threat over $800 million in cuts to education programs to help pay for the additional domestic spending under a “pay-as-you-go’’ culture that the administration itself advocates.

The Senate measure blends about $30 billion for Obama’s 30,000-troop surge in Afghanistan with more than $5 billion to replenish disaster aid accounts, as well as funding for Haitian earthquake relief, and a down payment on aid to flood-drenched Tennessee and Rhode Island.

See who is LAST on the LIST there, America?

It also contains $13 billion in benefits for Vietnam War veterans exposed to Agent Orange and $6.2 billion in foreign aid.

But NOTHING for the BLACK FARMER or the NATIVE American!!!

And WHAT COULD BE MORE RACIST than to RAIN DOWN BOMBS and MISSILES on MUSLIMS who NEVER DID ANYTHING TO US, huh?
