Till Tuesday

Have to turn over that BG manure:

DeLeo wants probation hires under Civil Service
House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo said yesterday he will file legislation to make hiring and firing at the state Probation Department subject to civil service rules, in an attempt to begin repairing an agency badly damaged by a patronage scandal.

Now it will be impossible to fire any of them.

MCAS tied to college success for Hub grads
The state’s high academic standards and rigorous MCAS exams appear to have given Boston high school grads a dramatic boost toward earning college degrees, but too many are still dropping out, according to a study being released today.

I'm sick of seeing the word but turn up in my newspaper.

Rentals soar as more people steer clear of homeownership
For much of the past decade, renters have typically been college students, people who could not afford to buy, or upwardly mobile professionals who change jobs frequently. Now, an uncertain economy, sputtering housing market, and changing attitudes about homeownership have widened the pool of renters.

And the Globe considers this a good thing.  More property in fewer hands.
And all people around here can say is how cold it is.

Flags will drop to mark Pearl Harbor date

The mother of all false flags.

The great Roosevelt knew about it and allowed it to happen so he could get us into WWII.

Lawmakers and universities cut sabbaticals to trim costs

Maybe the "lawmakers" should get one. (Maybe I will take one seeing as the Globe only gives me 5 stories a day before I have to be a member).
Airline blamed in crash of Concorde

I no longer believe a word regarding plane crashes in the paper.
Yeah, poor, billions in profits BoA -- and Countrywide is to blame for the mortgage mess by loaning to people who couldn't afford it (yeah, sure, agenda-pushing banker's media) while cutting sweetheart deals for senators like Conrad and Dodd (never merits a mention).

See why I no longer want to read the Boston Globe?

Selling it at a loss, taxpayers.

"The recovery in ad spending is not showing up across the board. Instead, forecasters expect advertisers will continue to shift dollars to the Web and away from traditional media such as newspapers.

Related: Kicking Around the Boston Globe

Soon there will not be a paper to kick.

The forecasts come as many media and entertainment companies gather for the annual UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York.

A conference for the media sponsored by a BANK!

That just about says it all, doesn't it?
