Picking Through the Boston Globe Garbage

Found a body:

"Ex-official’s body in Delaware landfill" by Associated Press / January 4, 2011

The body of  John Wheeler III, a veteran of Republican administrations, was discovered on New Year’s Eve as a garbage truck emptied its contents at the Cherry Island landfill.

He worked as a consultant for the Mitre Corp., a nonprofit with offices in Bedford, Mass., and McLean, Va., that operates federally funded research and development centers.

Mitre Corp.  Remember that for later.

Police have determined that all the stops made Friday by the garbage truck before it arrived at the landfill involved large commercial disposal bins in Newark, several miles from Wheeler’s home.

“He was just not the sort of person who would wind up in a landfill,’’ said Bayard Marin, a lawyer who was representing Wheeler in a dispute over a couple’s plans to build a new home in the historic district of Old New Castle where Wheeler lived....

Is that the cover-story or frame job being set up?

Update: John P. Wheeler III: The 'neighbors' twist

John's neighbor Ron heard loud noise emminating from John's television during Christmas week, and it wasn't the usual occassional program, as Roark says: it was so loud as to be disturbing...and it was continuous for day.

Delaware law enforcement aren't saying how John P. Wheeler III died, but they are denying his home was the crime scene. However, according to WTOP FM Radio, two wooden chairs in the Wheeler's kitchen had yellow crime scene tape stretched across them--and several wooden floorboards near the two chairs were missing.

Mike Rivero over at WRH was wondering whether he had some stuff on the Bushes or some other elite figures.

Could it have something to do with 9/11, dear readers?

Mitre Corp?

The story stunk right from the get-go even without the garbage.

More stinking garbage:

"Delayed by storm, NYC picks up trash; Snow closes Calif. roads for 2d day" by Associated Press / January 4, 2011

NEW YORK — On the West Coast a winter storm turned the main highway between Southern and Central California into a snowy, icy parking lot....

In SOUTHERN California?

Hundreds of motorists returning from the New Year’s holiday found themselves stuck after Interstate 5 was closed for a second day over the 4,160-foot-high Tejon Pass, about 70 miles north of Los Angeles....

Other drivers spent hours crawling over Interstate 15’s snowy Cajon Pass to get back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, where there was a trace of snow yesterday at the official measuring station near McCarran International Airport....

In VEGAS?

What are the odds on that?
