"Family doctor faces sentencing for child porn
A former family doctor from Tolland, Conn., faces sentencing for possessing child pornography after admitting he used a file-sharing service to trade images and videos. Dr. Carl Koplin, who is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in Hartford, pleaded guilty last year to receipt of child pornography. Prosecutors say investigators were able to download about 300 images and videos of child pornography from an Internet directory traced to Koplin’s computer. They say the FBI seized Koplin’s desktop computer and other storage media in July 2010, and found 800 gigabytes of child pornography. Koplin faces a minimum of five years in prison. His attorney said he is remorseful and in treatment. He also denied that Koplin’s pornography collection was as extensive as prosecutors indicated (AP)."
