Coincidence?

"Mass slaying in Serbia leaves police, residents baffled; 13 gunned down; suspect shoots wife and himself" by Jovana Gec and Dusan Stojanovic  |  Associated Press, April 10, 2013

VELIKA IVANCA, Serbia — He went from house to house in the village at dawn, cold-bloodedly gunning down his mother, his son, a 2-year-old cousin, and 10 other neighbors. Terrified residents said that if a police patrol car hadn’t shown up, they all would have been dead.

Police said they know of no motive yet in the carnage Tuesday that left six women, six men, and a child dead in Velika Ivanca, a Serbian village 30 miles southeast of Belgrade.

After the rampage, police said suspect Ljubisa Bogdanovic, a 60-year-old who saw action in one of the bloodiest sieges of the Balkan wars, turned his gun on himself and his wife as authorities closed in. Both were in grave condition at a hospital in the Serbian capital.

In the small lush village surrounded by fruit trees, the suspect’s older brother Radmilo broke down in tears, unable to explain why the massacre had happened.

‘‘Why did he do it? . . . I still can’t believe it,’’ he said sobbing, covering his face with his hands. ‘‘He was a model of honesty.’’

‘‘As a child, he was a frightened little boy. I used to defend him from other children. He couldn’t even slaughter a chicken,’’ he said.

But he said his brother had changed after serving in the army during a brutal Serb-led offensive against the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar in 1992 — the worst bloodshed during Croatia’s 1991-95 war for independence.

‘‘The war had burdened him,’’ Radmilo, 62, said in an interview. ‘‘He used to tell me: ‘God forbid you live through what I went through.’ . . . Something must have clicked in his head for him to do this.’’

Although such mass shootings are relatively rare in Serbia, weapons are readily available, mostly from the 1990s wars in the Balkans. Media reports said the suspect had a license for the handgun and police said he had lost his job last year at a wood-processing factory.

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said the killings showed that the government must pay more attention to gun control and other social problems facing the Balkan nation, which is still reeling from the 1990s wars. His government held an emergency session and proclaimed Wednesday a national day of mourning.

This seems so damn familiar.

Residents said Bogdanovic first killed his son and his mother before leaving his house and then began shooting his neighbors. They expressed deep shock, describing the suspect as a quiet, helpful man.

‘‘He knocked on the doors and as they were opened he just fired a shot,’’ said villager Radovan Radosavljevic. ‘‘He was a good neighbor and anyone would open their doors to him. I don’t know what happened.’’

‘‘I never saw him angry, ever,’’ said Milovan Kostadinovic, another resident. ‘‘He was helping everybody, he had a car and drove us everywhere.’’

Still....

The suspected killer owned a gun but neighbors and his brother said he never hunted or shot weapons, even at weddings or celebrations as is traditional in the Balkans.

‘‘He was quiet as a bug,’’ Stanica Kostadinovic said.

Nada Macura, a Belgrade hospital spokeswoman, said the suspect had no known history of mental illness.

Stanica Kostadinovic said the man’s father had hanged himself when he was a young boy and his uncle had a history of mental illness.

This really stinks, folks. Maybe it happened, maybe it all happened as my pos paper says; however, I no longer believe anything in my newspaper. The AmeriKan ma$$ media has been caught lying and pushing to many scripted and staged events for me to believe. The agenda-pushing in every article is so damn obvious now it is quite disturbing.

"Suspect in Serb shooting spree dies" April 12, 2013

BELGRADE — The Serbian veteran suspected of killing 13 people in a shooting rampage and then turning the gun on his wife and himself died Thursday.

Well, he won't be telling his story now. Amazing how many of these lone-nut gunmen end up dead.

Ljubisa Bogdanovic, 60, died from head wounds, Belgrade Emergency Hospital said. His wife, Javorka Bogdanovic, 60, was in serious but stable condition.

The assailant went on a pre-dawn, house-to-house rampage Tuesday near Belgrade, killing his mother, son, and a 2-year-old cousin, police said.

Milovan Kostadinovic, a neighbor who said he and his family survived only because a police patrol showed up after a call by Bogdanovic’s wife, said “he should have suffered more for what he did to us.”

“I’ve heard that he died,” Kostadinovic said. “It’s better that way. I feel better now that I know he passed away.”

Authorities are searching for motives in the worst peacetime shooting rampage in Serbia. Bogdanovic had no criminal record or history of mental illness. He fought in the Balkan wars in the 1990s and lost his job a year ago at a wood processing factory.

Hey, we have war vets lose it all the time over here, either by going on rampages or committing suicide.

Residents of the village of Velika Ivanca, about 30 miles southeast of Belgrade, have said Bogdanovic first killed his son and his mother before leaving his home and going house to house, shooting neighbors.

NEXT DAY UPDATE:

"MASSACRE VICTIMS MOURNED -- The victims of a shooting rampage in Velika Ivanca, Serbia, were mourned in services Friday. Authorities say Ljubisa Bogdanovic, a 60-year-old veteran of the war in Croatia in the early 1990s, killed six men, six women, and a 2-year-old toddler on Monday. The gunman, who shot himself, has died (Boston Globe April 13 2013)."

"Dutch peacekeeper not prosecuted for massacre" by Mike Corder  |  Associated Press, March 08, 2013

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The general who commanded Dutch peacekeepers in the Bosnian enclave of Srebrenica when Bosnian Serb fighters overran the town and massacred some 8,000 Muslim men won’t be prosecuted for not stopping the slayings, authorities said Thursday.

Apparently only those prosecuted will be tin-pot African dictators we have turned on, and recalcitrant regimes like Serbia that wouldn't sell-out the the Jew World Order and private central banking.

Relatives of three victims of the worst massacre in Europe since World War II wanted retired General Thom Karremans held criminally responsible for the Muslim deaths.

They asserted that he turned them over to the Serbs when he should have offered them protection because they had worked for the peacekeepers.

But prosecutors said that Karremans and two other senior Dutch officers ‘‘cannot be held liable under criminal law for having been involved in the crimes committed by the Bosnian Serbian Army in July 1995 in Srebrenica.’’

The massacre and the Dutch peacekeepers’ involvement in it have been a national trauma for the Netherlands, which has long prided itself on offering protection to endangered minorities.

Trauma for the Dutch?

A national government resigned en masse after a critical report in 2002.

Many of the ill-equipped troops who served in Srebrenica needed medical or psychological treatment when they got home.

Bosnian Serb forces separated the Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica from women and the elderly and then transported them away to remote sites dotted around the hills surrounding the town and summarily executed them before plowing their bodies into mass graves.

"Man sentenced to 45 years in Bosnia war crimes" by Aida Cerkez |  Associated Press, March 30, 2013

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina — A court in Bosnia on Friday convicted a Montenegrin man of multiple counts of murder, torture, rape, and looting during Bosnia’s 1992-95 war, and sentenced him to 45 years in prison — the highest sentence ever issued in the country.

Judge Zoran Bozic said that Veselin Vlahovic, 43, killed 31 people, raped a number of women, and tortured and robbed non-Serb residents of a Sarajevo suburb while fighting for the Bosnian Serbs. Among other crimes, the judge described how Vlahovic cut the throats of two brothers in front of their mother, then killed her and raped the men’s wives.

A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office said that during the trial some of the 112 witnesses described mothers being raped in front of their children. The prosecution plans to appeal because he was acquitted on six counts.

Vlahovic’s lawyer said he also will appeal the sentence because he believes that some of the 60 counts on which Vlahovic was convicted were not proven.

"The court’s detailed judgment, running more than 600 pages, provided a grim reminder of the horrors of war that erupted in Bosnia. Presiding Judge Burton Hall said one group of Serb paramilitaries, known as Yellow Wasps, tortured prisoners near Zvornik in April 1992, including forcing prisoners to eat body parts cut off from others."

I'm not sure I even believe that given the lies that lead to wars, but I have heard such horror stories from the Balkans during Nazi occupation. Apparently even the Nazis(?) were appalled at some of the brutality.

Maybe you wouldn't mind going back to the Balkans for another view?
