"Young rapper’s care raises concerns; Complaint filed against father" by Todd Feathers  |  Globe Correspondent, February 25, 2013

Brockton police have filed a child abuse and neglect complaint against the father of Luie Rivera, a 9-year-old Brockton boy who raps under the name Lil Poopy, an officer said Monday.

Rivera, a member of the rap group Coke Boys, stars in several online rap videos, such as “Coke Ain’t a Bad Word,” in which he is shown gambling and engaging in sexually suggestive activity with adult women....

Yeah, that's a great message for kids.

"State finds no abuse of 9-year-old rap singer Lil Poopy" by Todd Feathers  |  Globe Correspondent, April 05, 2013

The state’s child protection agency has found that the family of a 9-year-old Brockton rapper did not abuse or neglect him by allowing the boy to star in several videos posted online showing him in club scenes and simulating sexually suggestive activity with women.

The controversy surrounding Luie Rivera Jr., whose stage name is Lil Poopy, began in February when Brockton police filed a child abuse and neglect complaint against Luis Rivera, the boy’s father. After a month of investigation, the state Department of Children and Families has closed the case without taking any action against the father.

“After a thorough investigation, the department did not find evidence to support the allegations of abuse or neglect,” spokeswoman Cayenne Isaksen said. “The decision followed interviews with members of the family, school officials, and medical professionals.”

Joseph Krowski Jr., the boy’s attorney, said the family is happy the matter has come to an end.

“This is the outcome they expected,” he said. “No one thought it should ever have gone this far.”

Krowski said the younger Rivera has been recording music throughout the investigation, and may end up benefiting from the media exposure.

He said ABC News’s “20/20” program is coming to Brockton next week to interview the boy.

“His name’s been in the media all over the world, literally all over the world, so there’s going to be some more name recognition,” Krowski said.

Little Shit turned into a Big Turd.
