Slow Saturday Special: Man Gives Birth

That's what the Globe says:

"Ariz. judge rejects divorce for transgender man" by Paul Davenport and Felicia Fonseca  |  Associated Press, March 30, 2013

PHOENIX — An Arizona judge on Friday refused to grant a divorce for a transgender Arizona man who gave birth to three children after beginning to change his sex from female.

Maricopa County Family Court Judge Douglas Gerlach ruled that Arizona’s ban on same-sex marriages prevents Thomas Beatie’s nine-year union from being recognized as valid.

Thomas Beatie was born a woman and later underwent a double-mastectomy, and began testosterone hormone therapy and psychological treatment to become a man, but he retained female reproductive organs and gave birth to three children....

Another things I seeing in my Globe that day:

"Saucer memo big hit in FBI ‘Vault’" by Russell Contreras  |  Associated Press, March 30, 2013

ALBUQUERQUE — A single-page FBI memo relaying a vague and unconfirmed report of flying saucers found in New Mexico in 1950 has become the most popular file in the bureau’s electronic reading room....

Pffffffffffttt!

The prominence of UFO lore in the AmeriKan culture makes me very, very dubious. I've come to the belief that it is nothing more than a diversion, distraction, and cover story to get ones mind off the wars, the private central bank Ponzi scheme, and developmental research carried out by the military.

Vaguely written, the memo describes a story told by an unnamed third party who claims an Air Force investigator reported that three flying saucers were recovered in New Mexico, though the memo doesn’t say exactly where in the state....

We all know they mean Roswell.

The name of an ‘‘informant’’ reporting some of the information is blacked out in the memo.

Old habits die hard, which is probably what has since happened to the informant.

Related: FAA says Amherst UFO was military cargo plane

That the new weather balloon?

"Dozens of residents of the Amherst area are baffled by what they describe as a weird low-flying object seen moving over town this week. Witnesses described the UFO seen after dark Tuesday as the size of two or three cars, and roughly diamond-shaped, or even triangular. It was visible because of its dim white lights. One woman said it was only 75 to 100 feet above her car. Another woman told the Daily Hampshire Gazette the object was too slow and too quiet to be an airplane. Police say they received one call about ‘‘lights in the sky,’’ but they didn’t investigate."

And neither will I. Judging by deductive reasoning and the police reaction, it was some sort of new stealth fighter or something that they flew over to see, you know, how it would approach during battle.

God, they really are crazy around here.

What's next, ghosts

Ever get the feeling the Globe belongs next the supermarket check-out counter rather than across the aisle?

Of course, the sad truth is so many of their "real" stories read like this every day.
