Thrilling Post From Rhode Island

"R.I. board backs decision on paroling thrill killer

The Rhode Island Parole Board has affirmed its decision to parole a Woonsocket man who was in prison 13 years for a 1999 thrill killing. The Providence Journal reported that the Parole Board’s administrator, Matthew Degnan, said Alfred A. Brissette Jr. will be eligible for release when an appropriate discharge plan is in place. The board voted Monday. Brissette pleaded no contest in 2004 to murder charge in the killing of Jeanette Descoteaux. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison, to be released in 2034. The board agreed last year to release him early, but his release plan fell through."
