Your New England Legislatures at Work Today

Please tell me they are not wasting time with these things:

"The time has come, some 233 years later, as the New Hampshire House of Representatives prepares for a vote Wednesday that would posthumously and symbolically give the slaves their freedom and shine a light on a forgotten chapter of black history in one of the whitest states."

Not defending slavery in the least or trying to be insensitive to black history, but aren't there current issues of more importance right now? Is anyone from that era still alive?

"The Boston Teachers Union demanded Tuesday that the School Department launch an independent review of its new teacher evaluation system to determine why black and Hispanic teachers are more likely to be targeted for possible dismissal."

Looks like race is a problem right here in 21st-century Boston.

R.I. Senate to vote on gay marriage

What becomes clear in looking at these things every day is government is incapable of addressing the real problems of our times because a) they have had a big hand in creating them, and b) they are powerle$$ in the face of their money ma$ters. Thus they are working on things like this, the state sandwich, or arguing with some other town in some over state over the home the Amerikan waffle or some such thing.
