“Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke performed at the Agganis Arena on Tuesday night, and his show was visited by protesters, as expected. A pack of people who supported a petition that asked the Boston University administration to stop Thicke from performing in a BU building took to the streets outside of the venue and made it clear that they did not appreciate his music — specifically, his lyrics. The school’s Humanist Society created the petition, and by Tuesday, it had reached almost 3,000 signatures on Change.org.
Seeing as the Globe often cites it, it must be nothing more than agenda-pushing controlled opposition.
“Thicke’s hit song ‘Blurred Lines’ celebrates having sex with women against their will. Lyrics such as, ‘I know you want it,’ explicitly use non-consensual language. And while watching the extremely explicit video, the insinuations grow from subtle to explicit to obnoxious,” the petition said. “Clearly, Boston University has been a bedrock for feminism and ideologies of equality more generally. It is a dishonor to our feminist history to symbolically idolize Robin Thicke by allowing him to perform his misogynist music at our university.” Tuesday night’s protesters included Derek Knox, a seminarian at Andover Newton Theological School, and Alison Landry, of Roxbury."
Equality in all but wealth, that is.
What's interesting is that Miley's performance with him was viewed as a positive for women's rights.
I would have thought they had better things to protest, like this:
"The administration said, insurers could continue charging women more than men and could set higher premiums based on a person’s health status, in violation of the new law."
So let me get this straight. DISCRIMINATION against WOMEN is okay when it comes to their HEALTH, and ONCE AGAIN PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS are going to be a FACTOR?

President Obama hobnobbed Wednesday night with big-money Democratic donors during a whirlwind visit to the Hub that added to traffic snarls during evening rush hour and drew protesters on issues foreign and domestic.
I'm curious to see who protested and why the Globe would mention it, but I can't help but thank the president for gassing up the greenhouse effect for political purposes.
Obama first joined roughly two dozen supporters who gave up to $32,400 at a Democratic National Committee roundtable discussion at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, according to a committee official. The event was closed to reporters.
He then proceeded to a DNC dinner at the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter in South Boston, where about 75 supporters had paid $5,000 to $20,000 per ticket, the official said.
I'll bet there isn't much recession or inequality there.

Yeah, more chump change and food stamps are the $olution, or so says the $tatu$ quo paper of agenda-pu$hing wealth.
As the president zipped across the city, portions of the Massachusetts Turnpike were briefly closed to traffic, while MBTA commuter rail and bus service were halted for about 10 minutes, authorities said.
Which is likely better than what Paris had to endure.
The president’s visit comes less than a week after Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney held a major GOP fund-raiser in Boston.

Obama landed at Logan International Airport just past 4:15 p.m. and was joined by Governor Deval Patrick as he descended to the tarmac for a quick greeting from Mayor Martin J. Walsh of Boston.
The motorcade then whisked Obama to Cambridge, where he arrived just before 5 p.m. and spent about an hour and a half with donors before departing for South Boston.
The arrogance of the fart-mi$ters is astonishing and offensive!
At both stops, demonstrators greeted the president.
As Obama left the Charles Hotel, his motorcade passed more than 100 protesters standing behind barricades in frigid temperatures, many voicing support for the fledgling government of Ukraine, now in a tense faceoff with Russia.
Oh, so he went by a crowd of CONTROLLED OPPOSITION protesters supporting the agenda, huh?
Some protesters chanted and several held aloft yellow-and-blue Ukrainian flags and signs with messages including “Putin Nyet” — a “no” to President Vladimir Putin of Russia, whose troops seized control of much of Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula on Saturday.
More demonstrators rallied outside the EpiCenter, home to an organization that helps young people develop creative abilities and find jobs in the arts.
The activists oppose the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, a 1,700-mile conduit that would carry oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
I guess that is why they get a photograph that I noted in my printed paper one day. In my mind, another controlled opposition crowd (if they were not they wouldn't receive such nice a mention in my pre$$) that focuses on the wrong issues.

Adam Greenberg, who took part as a member of a grass-roots organization addressing climate change, said the group gathered to ask the president to safeguard the environment, as protesters have done for months at events Obama has attended.
That is CONFIRMATION of the CONTROLLED OPPOSITION ASPECT!
Inside, Patrick introduced the president with remarks critical of the GOP. “What we have right now is a Republican Party that brings us gridlock and shutdowns, and fiscal cliffs, and debt-ceiling crises, and a whole host of other totally avoidable crises,” Patrick said.
Sorry, but we have seen through the $hit fooley.

Obama’s 13-minute speech addressed progress he said the United States has made on the economy, health care, and rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender citizens.
That last special interest group is the only one I've seen benefit from his presidency.

Obama spoke of the nation’s minimum wage, which he supports increasing, saying “the majority of the country, including half of Republicans, agree with” me.

He called on Democrats to avoid being complacent in this year’s congressional elections.
“In the midterms, Democrats, too often, don’t vote,” he said. “And because the electorate has changed, we get walloped. It’s happened before, and it could happen again if we do not fight on behalf of the things we care about in this election.”
I was told the electorate were trending in your direction because of immigrants and women.
Then again, I guess I need to consider my $ources, huh?
Obama said that though he is not on the ballot, the ideas that he cares about are.
Good reason to VOTE REPUBLICAN!
“The progress we’ve made is on the ballot. The things that Deval has fought for here in Massachusetts are on the ballot,” he said.
All the more reason to VOTE REPUBLICAN (not that it really matters)!
“This counts. And I’m going to need you guys to step up,” the president said.

You have a former IRS agent protesting testimony, and Republicans protesting deserved impeachment hearings. You have a Senate protesting CIA spying, and it's just pure torture for them. Turns out the floods are due to government mismanagement and unmentioned record snow melt, and that is being protested, and there is another prote$t that didn't generate much of a surge with me. Neither did the Pope or the typical Israeli protestations and false flags, although the one in Venezuela did catch my eye:

Now we know why the Globe hasn't been giving it much coverage -- as the country mourns Chavez with a massive turnout!
