April Fool: No Guffaws in Georgia

At first I thought this was a joke, but then I saw that it was more like North Carolina.

"Man dead after shooting at Ga. university" Associated Press   April 01, 2014

COLUMBUS, Ga. — Police at Georgia’s Columbus State University fatally shot a man over the weekend after officers responded to a report of someone with a gun, authorities said. A lawyer for the man’s family said Monday that the man was unarmed and a visitor on campus.

Time to disarm the police. Guns obviously kill people.

That isn't going to make schools secure, as we can see from the dead kid on the ground.

Zikarious Jaquan Flint, 20, died Sunday after suffering two gunshot wounds in the shooting, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said Monday.

Flint was not a student at the university and no one else was hurt in the shooting Sunday afternoon. University police reported that officers chased the man on foot near apartments on the campus, about 100 miles southwest of Atlanta near the Alabama state line before the shooting, authorities said.

University Police Chief Rus Drew said officers were called at 2:35 p.m. Sunday and arrived three minutes later to an area near some campus apartments and began pursuing a man on foot.

‘‘There was a short foot chase and at some point the suspect turned and faced the officers and shots were fired,’’ Drew said.

Stacey Jackson said he has been hired by Flint’s family as a lawyer and spokesman. He said he went to the campus Sunday after he was contacted by the family and spoke to three people who said they witnessed the shooting.

‘‘All three witnesses were consistent in the fact that when Mr. Flint was shot, he did not have a weapon in his hand and, from what they witnessed, he was shot from behind,’’ Jackson said by phone Monday.

Then this was an execution, and the campus cops lied!

They could't catch the kid so they shot him!

The family is hoping that an autopsy scheduled for Monday afternoon would give some insight into where the two bullets entered and exited Flint’s body, Jackson said.

I wouldn't count on anything official.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating, which is common for police-involved shootings. University officials said they would have no further details immediately and were assisting the investigation.

‘‘This is a terrible tragedy,’’ CSU President Tim Mescon said. ‘‘We’ll cooperate fully with the investigation. . . . .’’

Meaning they will participate in the official cover-up.

"Protesters clash with police in Albuquerque | Associated Press   April 01, 2014

ALBUQUERQUE — Hundreds of protesters angry over recent Albuquerque police shootings clashed with riot officers for more than 10 hours, calling on the police chief and other city officials to resign.

Gas canisters were thrown outside police headquarters, and protesters at one point trapped police in a vehicle and tried to break its windows. Mayor Richard Berry said one officer was injured during the protest.

Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies charged at the protesters late Sunday, mostly dispersing the crowds. But the clashes continued into Monday.

Even Anonymous people are pitching in:

"Cyberattack disrupts N.M. police site" Associated Press   March 31, 2014

ALBUQUERQUE — The Albuquerque Police Department’s website was hit by a cyberattack Sunday, days after threats from a group reported to be the hacker collective Anonymous....

How does that help, other than validate government warnings about hackers (when it is the U.S. government that is their biggest employer) and allow them to crack down on web surveillance?

They may be anonymous, but they smell COINTELPRO to me.

The incident comes after a YouTube video posted last week said official city sites would be hacked in retaliation for a police shooting in the Sandia foothills killed a homeless man.

The March 16 shooting, which was captured on video and sparked a federal investigation, has garnered protests and calls for reforms within the Albuquerque Police Department.

In the recent Sandia foothills shooting, authorities said James Boyd, 38, died after officers fired stun guns, bean bags, and six live rounds. Police said Boyd had threatened to kill officers and held onto knives as an unarmed K-9 officer approached him....

So they had dogs on scene?

Authorities have called Anonymous a loosely organized worldwide hacking group that has stolen confidential information and defaced websites.

A controlled opposition outfit created by the U.S. government!

Gotta hurry back to Boston:

"Residents reeling after carjackings, shootings, chase; Everett man held after pursuit ends in Bedford" by Travis Andersen, David Filipov and Ellen Ishkanian | Globe Staff and Globe correspondent   April 01, 2014

BEDFORD — In a wild spree evocative of a Hollywood car chase thriller, a man led police on a high-speed pursuit north and west of Boston Monday, commandeering four cars, careering through police blockades, and exchanging gunfire with officers before he was arrested in Bedford.

Stunned residents of Concord, Carlisle, Newton, and Haverhill looked on as the chase unfolded in a string of car crashes, brazen carjackings, and a shootout on the Concord-Carlisle line before ending when the suspect struck a telephone pole and a tree on a quiet street in Bedford....

Helicopters flew overhead, and State Police cruisers swarmed through the neighborhood, as Bedford police were investigating whether a second suspect was involved in the chain of events, which started at approximately 2:20 a.m. Monday in Haverhill, according to a statement by the city’s police....

They never seem to be when the "official" story is given.
