"Unusual Strain of Swine Flu Is Found in People in 2 States
Swine flus rarely infect humans. There have been about a dozen cases since 2005, but almost all were in farm workers or others in contact with pigs.
That was the FIRST INKLING I HAD that a S*** COVER STORY and AGENDA PUSH was underway!!! The blogs just confirmed it.
In 1976, there was a cluster of swine flu cases among soldiers at Fort Dix, in New Jersey, one of whom died. That led to a rush to make a new vaccine and administer it to 40 million Americans.
And WHICH PHARMACEUTICALS BENEFITED, 'eh?
No epidemic materialized, but thousands of people claimed that the vaccine had given them Guillain-Barré syndrome, which can cause lethargy or paralysis. The episode led to the resignation of the director of the disease control center, and the agency has been wary of causing panic over influenza cases ever since.
Oh, the VACCINES MADE YOU SICK THEN, too, huh?
The unusual strain this year was noticed, Dr. Schuchat said, only because the agency was trying out a new diagnostic test at a Navy laboratory and doing more testing than usual through a new Border Infectious Disease Surveillance Project along the Mexican border.
Oh, STINK!!!!!!!!!

I'm also left wondering why the Globe needs three different rewrites on the website. Think I like wasting time picking and choosing to find what was reported in my paper? Know how sick I am of the shit censorship of AmeriKa's agenda-pushing MSM?
"Mexico swine flu deaths spur global epidemic fears" by Mark Stevenson, Associated Press Writer | April 24, 2009
MEXICO CITY --A unique strain of swine flu is the suspected killer of dozens of people in Mexico, where authorities closed schools, museums, libraries and theaters in the capital on Friday to try to contain an outbreak that has spurred concerns of a global flu epidemic.
The worrisome new virus -- which combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before -- also sickened at least eight people in Texas and California....
"We are very, very concerned," World Health Organization spokesman Thomas Abraham said. "We have what appears to be a novel virus and it has spread from human to human ... It's all hands on deck at the moment."
The outbreak caused alarm in Mexico, where more than 1,000 people have been sickened. Residents of the capital donned surgical masks and authorities ordered the most sweeping shutdown of public gathering places in a quarter century. President Felipe Calderon met with his Cabinet Friday to coordinate Mexico's response.
The WHO was convening an expert panel to consider whether to raise the pandemic alert level or issue travel advisories. There is no vaccine that specifically protects against swine flu, and it was unclear how much protection current human flu vaccines might offer. A "seed stock" genetically matched to the new swine flu virus has been created by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, said Dr. Richard Besser, the agency's acting director. If the government decides vaccine production is necessary, manufacturers would need that stock to get started.
And that is who would BENEFIT ($$$$$), right? Why are they hanging on to germs anyway when they have almost (allegedly) eradicated them? Sentimentality?
Authorities in Mexico urged people to avoid hospitals unless they had a medical emergency, since hospitals are centers of infection. They also said Mexicans should refrain from customary greetings such as shaking hands or kissing cheeks....
Epidemiologists are particularly concerned because the only fatalities so far were in young people and adults.
Sort of wondering why this next sentence was edited out or cut:
It's possible that more vulnerable populations -- infants and the aged -- had been vaccinated against other strains, providing some protection.
Reader? I thought there were no vaccines for swine flu? I guess that's why it took the MSM axe, huh?
The eight U.S. victims recovered from symptoms that were like those of the regular flu, mostly fever, cough and sore throat, though some also experienced vomiting and diarrhea. U.S. health officials announced an outbreak notice to travelers, urging caution and frequent handwashing, but stopping short of telling Americans to avoid Mexico.
Mexico's Health Secretary Jose Angel Cordoba said 68 people have died of flu and the new swine flu strain had been confirmed in 20 of those deaths. At least 1,004 people nationwide were sick from the suspected flu, he said.
Yes, the bloggers have noted the different strains and effects; now will the lying, cover-up, agenda-pushing MSM?
Scientists have long been concerned that a new flu virus could launch a worldwide pandemic of a killer disease. A new virus could evolve when different flu viruses infect a pig, a person or a bird, mingling their genetic material. The resulting hybrid could spread quickly because people would have no natural defenses against it. Still, flu experts were concerned but not alarmed about the latest outbreak.
Cover story crap!!!
"We've seen swine influenza in humans over the past several years, and in most cases, it's come from direct pig contact. This seems to be different," said Dr. Arnold Monto, a flu expert with the University of Michigan. "I think we need to be careful and not apprehensive, but certainly paying attention to new developments as they proceed."
The CDC says two flu drugs, Tamiflu and Relenza, seem effective against the new strain. Roche, the maker of Tamiflu, said the company is prepared to immediately deploy a stockpile of the drug if requested.
And CUI BONO, 'eh?
Both drugs must be taken early, within a few days of the onset of symptoms, to be most effective.
Cordoba said Mexico has enough Tamiflu to treat 1 million people, but the medicine will be strictly controlled and handed out only by doctors. Mexico's government had maintained until late Thursday that there was nothing unusual about the flu cases, although this year's flu season had been worse and longer than past years....
That's where my paper cut the article off.
Closing schools across Mexico's capital of 20 million kept 6.1 million students home, as well as thousands of university students. All state and city-run cultural activities were suspended, including libraries, state-run theaters, and at least 14 museums. Private athletic clubs closed down and soccer leagues were considering canceling weekend games....
That's the point! Keep everyone inside and limit travel.
Which is good, because I'm not going anywhere. I am waiting until some jackboot tries to move us from this property or vaccinate us because it ain't happening
Mexico's response brought to mind other major outbreaks, such as when SARS hit Asia. At its peak in 2003, Beijing shuttered schools, cinemas and restaurants, and thousands of people were quarantined at home.
In March 2008, Hong Kong ordered more than a half-million students to stay home for two weeks because of a flu outbreak. It was the first such closure in Hong Kong since the outbreak of SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome....
U.S. health officials said the outbreak is not yet a reason for alarm in the United States. The five people sickened in California and three in Texas have all recovered.
Yeah, until the next day!
And GET A LOAD of THIS!!!!
It's unclear how the eight, who became ill between late March and mid-April, contracted the virus because none were in contact with pigs, which is how people usually catch swine flu. And only a few were in contact with each other.
I think the blogs have answered that question, cover-up crappers!
CDC officials described the virus as having a unique combination of gene segments not seen before in people or pigs. The bug contains human virus, avian virus from North America and pig viruses from North America, Europe and Asia. It may be completely new, or it may have been around for a while and was only detected now through improved testing and surveillance, CDC officials said....
So WHICH LAB was it MADE IN?

Why the Globe replaces that article with this one on the web is beyond me -- especially since I no longer care for their damn games.
MEXICO CITY - An outbreak of swine flu that may have killed up to 60 people prompted authorities yesterday to close schools throughout this sprawling city of 20 million people and order emergency health measures in an attempt to contain the disease.
Meanwhile, US officials said they had found one new case in San Diego, bringing the total number of cases in the United States to eight. All have recovered fully....
Researchers at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found no links among the US victims or any common behaviors, acting director Dr. Richard Besser said yesterday in a telephone news conference. That suggests "there has been transmission through several cycles" - meaning several intermediaries passed it among themselves before the virus reached the identified victims.
The more you read their disassembling explanations, the less yopu believe in authority and government!
If that is the case, Besser added, many people have already been exposed to the virus and it is too late to contain a potential outbreak in the United States. The good news is that none of the intermediaries appear to have developed serious illness, suggesting that the disease is not especially virulent. Investigators are analyzing why the disease is so much more severe in Mexico....
The blogs already answered that!
US health specialists noted, meanwhile, that deaths from influenza are common....
Then why is the MSM all full of the scare?
The god-damn STAGE-MANAGED AGENDA-PUSHING NEVER ENDS!!!
The virus.... striking the most vulnerable populations.... potentially alarming because the 1918 influenza epidemic also struck the young and healthy.... "We have confirmation that this is a mutant of a virus that comes from pigs that ... never had provoked an epidemic, that is, had never spread among humans," Cordova said.
The new swine virus is unlike any that researchers have seen. It appears to be a combination of segments from four viruses from three continents, including a human segment, an avian segment, and pig segments....
DEFINITELY MADE in a LAB!!!!!
And as with everything, it is SUDDENLY a CRISIS in the AGENDA-PUSHING MSM!!!!!
"Global alarm at swine flu outbreak; Reported cases rise in US, Mexico; epidemic feared" by Stephen Smith, Globe Staff | April 26, 2009
Public health authorities in Massachusetts urged doctors and clinics yesterday to be vigilant for patients exhibiting signs of respiratory illness, after an international health official warned that a swine flu virus that is responsible for a deadly outbreak in Mexico and has been detected in parts of the United States could spark a global epidemic.
"It has pandemic potential," Margaret Chan, the director general of the World Health Organization, told reporters during a telephone briefing. "In the assessment of WHO this is a serious situation that must be watched very carefully."
Chan held the briefing after cutting short a trip to the United States so she could rush back to the WHO's headquarters in Geneva to convene an emergency meeting of specialists to decide what steps should be taken to contain the virus. It is the first time the committee has been called upon since it was created two years ago to handle disease outbreaks.
Yup, GLOBALISTS ALL GETTING TOGETHER to decide where we are headed!!!
The new swine flu strain has killed as many as 81 and sickened possibly 1,300 more in Mexico. It first spread outside Mexico to Texas and California, where there have been at least eight reported nonfatal cases. Yesterday, two new cases were reported in Kansas, and there was a suspected outbreak in New York City, where the health commissioner, Thomas Frieden, said tests showed that eight high school students had an influenza virus that was "probable" swine flu.
Samples were sent to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for further testing to see whether they are the same rare strain. The New York students reported only mild symptoms and are recovering well.
There were no reported cases in Massachusetts as of last night, and state officials specifically disputed an NBC news report suggesting there were. Indeed, flu cases of all kinds had begun to ebb here with the end of the traditional flu season. A statewide network of about 30 medical practices that act as bellwethers for flu activity has reported a drop-off in cases in recent weeks, said Dr. Alfred DeMaria, the state's top disease tracker. "But prudence would dictate to watch this extremely closely, because it's a newish influenza strain," DeMaria said....
In Mexico, the government has taken steps to try to control the outbreak, which has struck hardest in the sprawling capital, Mexico City. Thousands of public events have been canceled, and school suspended for millions of students. But despite the government efforts, alarm has continued to grow, and yesterday another 24 suspected cases of the flu were reported in the city, according to the Associated Press.
Meanwhile, at the WHO, officials could recommend the declaration of an international public health emergency, which could have major implications on travel and trade....
There go the blogs being RIGHT AGAIN!!!!
The new strain contains gene sequences from North American and Eurasian swine flu viruses, North American bird flu, and North American human flu, said the CDC. One additional source of alarm is that most of Mexico's dead thus far have been young, healthy adults, and none were over 60 or under 3 years old, the World Health Organization said.
That alarms health officials because seasonal influenzas cause most of their deaths among infants and bedridden elderly people, but pandemic influenzas like the 1918 Spanish flu and the 1957 and 1968 pandemics often strike young, healthy people the hardest.
