America Silent on Stolen Afghan Elections

Because a) we helped them do it, and b) Afghanistan is not Iran.

"Officials say scores of fake polling places favored Karzai; Workers allege up to 800 sites recorded votes" by Dexter Filkins and Carlotta Gall, New York Times | September 7, 2009

KABUL - American officials have mostly kept a public silence about the fraud allegations. A senior American official said yesterday that they were looking into the allegations behind the scenes. “An absence of public statements does not mean an absence of concern and engagement on these issues,’’ the official said....

Then what is with the double-standards and hypocrisy, s***ter?

In the days before the disputed presidential election, Afghan election workers loyal to President Hamid Karzai set up hundreds of fictitious polling sites where no one voted but that still registered hundreds of thousands of ballots toward the president’s reelection, according to senior Western and Afghan officials in the city.

The fake polling centers, as many as 800 in all, existed only on paper, said a senior Western diplomat in Afghanistan who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the election results.

I guess Afghans are more sensitive than Iranians, huh, 'murkn?

But local workers reported that hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of votes for Karzai came from each of those places. That pattern was confirmed by another Western official based in Afghanistan....

In addition to the fake sites, Karzai’s supporters also took over about 800 legitimate polling centers and used them to report tens of thousands of additional fraudulent ballots for Karzai, the officials said.

And yet U.S. GOVERNMENT LIPS is ALL ZIPPED UP on this one!

Whew, can you SMELL that STINKING HYPOCRISY or what?

The result, the officials said, is that in some provinces, the number of ballots reported in favor of Karzai might exceed the number of people who actually voted by a factor of 10. “We are talking about orders of magnitude,’’ the senior Western diplomat said.

That's MASSIVE FRAUD!!!!!

The widening accounts of fraud pose a stark problem for the Obama administration, which has deployed 65,000 American troops in Afghanistan to help reverse gains by Taliban insurgents. American officials hoped that the election would help turn Afghans away from the Taliban by giving them a greater voice in government. Instead, the Obama administration now faces the prospect of having to defend an Afghan administration for the next five years that is widely seen as illegitimate.

Hey, that will be like water off a duck's back to them. These guys lie so well without batting an eyelash I'm sure backing up Karzai will be no problem -- especially once the fraud is swept under the rug.

“This was fraud en masse,’’ the Western diplomat said.

Then we have a LEGITIMATELY ILLEGITIMATE government!

Most of the fraud perpetrated on behalf of Karzai, officials said, took place in the Pashtun-dominated areas of the east and south where officials said the turnout on Aug. 20 was exceptionally low....

But a different Western official in Kabul said there were divisions among the international community and Afghan political circles over how to proceed. This official said he believed the next four or five days would determine whether the entire electoral process would stand or fall.

They are REALLY GOING to PERFUME this turd and try to sell it to the world, huh?

“This is crunch time,’’ he said....

Oh, it's crunch time, is it?

What is this, a basketball game?
