The Difference Between Viagra and Michael Vick

"The leagues, however, don’t seem inclined to disrupt the status quo"

Yeah, they are all worried about the PETA people protests (and rightly so; the disrespect for life is abominable); however, when money at stake....

"Some upset over adult-themed ads; Leagues hold fast despite complaints" by David Crary, Associated Press | September 18, 2009

NEW YORK - Ads for erectile dysfunction drugs, beer, and not-for-children films abound on pro football and baseball telecasts, upsetting parents and politicians worried about harm to young viewers - though a new wave of complaints doesn’t seem to be swaying the leagues, networks, or advertisers.

Of course not, because $$$ screams.

I must admit, I am sickened by the advertisements as I suffer through each Sunday's fare due to socialization reasons.

I'd rather be watching movies if anything at all.

Earlier this year, a national media monitoring group urged the leagues to “clean up their act’’ after reporting that half the ad breaks during National Football League telecasts showed at least one ad featuring sex, drugs, or alcohol.

They forgot rock-and-roll.

A congressman concerned about the issue even introduced bill that would limit erectile dysfunction ads to nighttime.

That I agree with!

And take off those ads for women about the you-know-what stuff in the afternoon.

Oh, I know, I'm a prude, but WE NEED MORE of THAT KIND of MORALITY in this moral cesspit we call AmeriKa!

The San Francisco monitoring organization, Common Sense Media, this week provided the Associated Press with preliminary results of a similar ad study on Major League Baseball daytime telecasts - it found the rate of ads for alcohol and erectile dysfunction drugs at least as high as the NFL, and said there were even more ads for junk food.

The leagues, however, don’t seem inclined to disrupt the status quo....

Why? I'll give you one $$$ guess.

In May, Representative Jim Moran introduced a bill that would limit TV ads for erectile dysfunction drugs to between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. - not expecting it to pass any time soon but hoping it would send a warning to the drug makers. The Virginia Democrat had withdrawn a similar bill in 2005 after the companies offered to change their ad policies.

So THIS is what CONGRESS is doing?

JERKING OFF while we have REAL PROBLEMS?!!!

Pfizer Inc., which makes Viagra, said it only places ads for the drug on TV shows, including sports events, that have a viewership that’s at least 90 percent adult.

Aaaaaaaahh, yes, Pfizer and the ad $$$!

Yup, Viva Viagra!

According to the NFL, the average age of its TV viewers is 45 and only about 9 percent are under 18.

So they are shoveling unhealthy fast food at my aging carcass?

And it SURE LOOKS LIKE FOOTBALL is NOT the game of the FUTURE, huh?
