AmeriKan Military Does About Face on Gays

Ah, the power of the lobby (and Obama's need for a political friend).

"Lawyers urge delay in lifting gay service ban; Memo conflicts with counsel of other advisers" by Anne Gearan, Associated Press | January 15, 2010

WASHINGTON - “Now is not the time,’’ the in-house legal counsel for Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wrote recently in a memorandum obtained by the Associated Press. “The importance of winning the wars we are in, along with the stress on the force, our body of knowledge, and the number of unknowns, demand that we act with deliberation.’’

Although allowing gays to serve openly in the military was one of Obama’s campaign promises, the issue was put on the back burner during his first year in office. Some liberal supporters and several congressional Democrats are pushing for action.

Well, WE ALL KNOW how THAT FEELS this past year, huh?

NOTHING PARTISAN about THAT FEELING! It is UNIVERSAL in America.

The guy has been a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for EVERYONE (except the banks, war looters, and Israel).

Mullen and other military leaders cautioned last year that repeal of the law must be done carefully so as not to disrupt military cohesion in wartime. In April, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates indicated the process could take years - if it ever happens.

At the time, Gates noted that it took five years for the military to racially integrate during the Truman administration.

“If we do it, it’s imperative that we do it right and very carefully,’’ Gates said then....

Then someone said MORE TROOPS for MORE WARS and the MILITARY got on board!

Pentagon may ease ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ rules

They are talking MORE than EASING!

"Defense officials say lift military ban on gays" by Anne Flaherty, Associated Press Writer | February 3, 2010

WASHINGTON --It's time to repeal the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy and allow gay troops to serve openly for the first time in history, the nation's top defense officials declared Tuesday, with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff proclaiming that service members should not be forced to "lie about who they are."

How ironic coming from liars' mouths -- were it not for the mass-murder. Nothing IRONIC about that!

However, both Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen asked for a year to study the impact before Congress would lift the controversial policy.

Reversing the Pentagon's 17-year-old policy toward gays "comes down to integrity," for the military as an institution as well as the service members themselves, Mullen told a Senate hearing....

PLEASE EXPLAIN the WAR GAMES and STAND DOWN on 9/11, sir!

Repealing the ban would take an act of Congress, something that does not appear close to happening....

Then WHY is this ALL OVER the MEDIA for THREE DAYS!

What are we being DIVERTED FROM?

"Terrorists?"

"No matter how I look at the issue," Mullen said, "I cannot escape being troubled by the fact that we have in place a policy which forces young men and women to lie about who they are in order to defend their fellow citizens.... For me, it comes down to integrity -- theirs as individuals and ours as an institution. I have served with homosexuals since 1968.... There are a number of things cumulatively that get me to this position."

I see that first part and I can only relate to my painful journey over 9/11 Truth.

And if that last bit is true, lift the ban.

EVERYONE KNOWS they are OUT THERE and yet NO ONE SAYS the GAY has no clothes on?

Update: Issue of gays in military still splits the ranks

Whatever.

If they want to go die for empire and view it as some sort of equality, don't let me stop you. I've been trying for four years and nuthin'!
