Stumbling Prosecutor Gets Special Treatment

"DUI charge dropped against RI federal prosecutor

WARWICK, R.I. --A drunken driving charge against a federal prosecutor in Rhode Island has been dismissed.

A lawyer for the city of Warwick on Monday asked a judge to dismiss the charge against Assistant U.S. Attorney Gerard Sullivan in District Court.

BoldRobert Sgroi said he made the recommendation partly because Sullivan has already given up his driver's license for seven months and because he admitted last week that there was enough evidence to prove he refused a chemical breath test when he was pulled over early on Thanksgiving morning.

Police say he mentioned several times that he was a federal prosecutor, and knew their chief.

Isn't that threatening a police officer?

Warwick's police chief has ordered an internal probe into why Sullivan was not initially charged with driving under the influence unlike others arrested Thanksgiving weekend.

It's called SPECIAL TREATMENT and is available only if you are a member of the Party.
