Walsh Wimps Out

Probably a good idea.

"State Senator Walsh will not run again

State Senator Marian Walsh will not run for reelection this year, she announced in a letter to constituents yesterday. “It is time now for me to contribute in other ways, outside of elective office,’’ said Walsh, who had already picked up a challenge from state Representative Michael F. Rush, a fellow West Roxbury Democrat. A state senator since 1993, Walsh was the subject of controversy last year when Governor Deval Patrick sought to appoint her to a high-paying, long-vacant post at the Health and Educational Facilities Authority, an appointment Walsh ultimately abandoned (State House News Service)."
