Britain's Two-Party Political System

I thought they had a third one, but it never receives a mention in my newspaper anymore.

Labour doesn't really want to win; otherwise, they never would have called in this guy

"Labour Party taps Blair for boost as race in Britain tightens; Divisive politician pitches for Brown" by Jill Lawless, Associated Press | March 31, 2010

LONDON — Tony Blair, the former prime minister, made a dramatic preelection return to domestic British politics yesterday with an attack on the policies of David Cameron, the smooth young Conservative leader sometimes nicknamed “Tory Blair.’’

They took him out on a Wednesday, huh?

Blair’s return, weeks before a national election, came in a speech urging voters to give his Labour Party a fourth term in office.

“In uncertain times, there’s a lot to be said for certain leadership,’’ Blair said, dismissing the Conservative campaign slogan “vote for change’’ as “the most vacuous slogan in politics.’’

I agree there!

He said it begged the question: “Change to what, exactly?’’

Serving the you-know-whos whatever it be.

Blair has made few appearances in Britain since he quit as prime minister in 2007, though his January testimony defending his actions in Iraq to the country’s inquiry into the war marked a return to the limelight.

As if taking responsibility for that mass-murdering war crime is a good thing.

In more comfortable mode in a room full of Labour supporters in his former constituency, it was as though he’d never been gone.

Oh, isn't that special?!

Here was the easy smile, the friendly crowd at Trimdon village’s Labour Club in northeast England, and the gaggle of protesters outside as a reminder of Blair’s unpopular decision to go to war in Iraq.

Yeah, HEAR US HONK, HONK, HONK, you insulting sack of.... gotta stop right there.

Blair remains a divisive figure, but Labour leaders are calculating that despite lingering anger over the war, his record of having won three consecutive elections makes him an asset in the tight race....

They are JUST AS DELUDED as the Democrats over here!

"
Brown to seek May 6 for Britain’s election" by David Stringer, Associated Press | April 6, 2010

LONDON — Prime Minister Gordon Brown will pay a visit today to Queen Elizabeth II to seek permission to dissolve Parliament and designate May 6 as the date for the first national vote since 2005, the Labor Party confirmed.

For Brown, appreciated by some but widely unloved, election day could mark the ignominious end of a three-year term beset by division within his party, relentless media sniping, and the near-collapse of the British economy.

Unless they steals its, hobbits's!

Defeat would end a political era begun with Tony Blair’s landslide 1997 election victory, which returned the Labor Party to office and brought an unprecedented three successive election triumphs for the center-left party.

And SEND a MESSAGE by DUMP INCUMBENTS!

Britain’s Conservatives — the party of Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill — hope to win a national election for the first time since 1992.

Brown’s Labor Party is as much as 10 points behind the Conservatives and their articulate but untested leader, David Cameron, in opinion polls. But an unusual electoral map means the outcome is still uncertain, and some cracks are beginning to show in the Conservatives’ modern facade....

Whoever ends up running the debt-plagued nation will face restive unions and a population that will be asked to contribute more and receive less.

Yeah, like in Greece, it doesn't matter who wins, the British people lose.

While BANKSTERS, WAR-LOOTERS, and GLOBALISTS PARTY DOWN!

Britain’s recession-wracked economy and enormous debt are likely to dominate the election campaign....

Unless there is a "TERROR EVENT," cui bono?
