Talk about filler, folks.

Of course, there is NOTHING NEW HERE! It is all THINGS ALREADY KNOWN!

I guess that is why it is plastered all over the Globe's front-page today.

"Death threats hounded Kennedy for decades; FBI records show many warnings; Agency guarded, monitored senator" by Susan Milligan and Bryan Bender, Globe Staff | June 15, 2010

WASHINGTON — The late Senator Edward M. Kennedy lived under the constant threat of violent death, a burden he inherited from his slain brothers, according to FBI records released yesterday detailing hundreds of threats issued by hate groups or relayed by agency tipsters and police across the country.

The first batch of thousands of pages of Kennedy’s official FBI file reveals how the assassinations of his older brothers haunted US officials....

Uh-huh.

Is that why they killed him and helped cover it up?

But the FBI’s voluminous records also demonstrate a sometimes shifting role at the FBI. Before seeking to protect Kennedy from physical harm, agents closely monitored his travels to Central America, for instance, and noted his intention to meet with “leftists.’’

The files additionally contain unsubstantiated reports on Kennedy’s social life. And they provide a few glimpses of the complex relationship between one of the most powerful families in America and Hoover, a fierce anticommunist who presided over the FBI for nearly half a century.

And who was a blackmailing cross-dresser, but who really needs to know that?

The FBI said yesterday that, because no federal violations were alleged, it played no role in the investigation of the drowning death of Mary Jo Kopechne after Kennedy drove off a bridge in Chappaquiddick in 1969. FBI staff did snip newspaper clippings about the incident and dutifully placed them in the senator’s file.

Well, thank God someone did an exhaustive investigation:

"Kurtis puts the pieces together and finally a story emerges that makes sense -- Ted was not in the car. He'd bailed and returned to the party, found out only the next morning when an aide rushed up and whispered in his ear."

We NEVER GET the TRUTH about ANYTHING in the CORPORATE MEDIA!!!

Many of the allegations — including both the death threats and gossip about his sex life — are unverified. And the FBI’s wide information-gathering net picked up some bizarre claims....

That is what these articles degenerate into every time.

Historian Douglas Brinkley said, “But what emerges is the FBI as the great protector of a US senator.’’

See?

**************

The files, revealed under an agreement with the Kennedy family, lack certain details and insights into critical parts of the senator’s life. Many names are redacted to protect the privacy of other individuals. There is no indication what documents might have been left out entirely at the request of the family, which was allowed to review the file before its release to raise any privacy concerns.

The Kennedy family, through prominent lawyer Kenneth Feinberg, declined to comment on the contents of the file or discuss what might have been kept from public view at their request.

And also a bunch of other ones.

The files, widely anticipated by journalists, historians, and Kennedy buffs, are the first installment of a larger trove requested under the Freedom of Information Act by the Globe and other news organizations....

This is what they want to get at and what they are reporting?

No wonder their industry is dying.

"Bureau’s file was personal, political" by Farah Stockman, Globe Staff | June 15, 2010

WASHINGTON — Edward M. Kennedy’s FBI file, released yesterday, paints a vivid picture of the sometimes close, but often adversarial relationship that the Kennedy family had with the agency. Charged with protecting the Kennedys, the FBI also kept meticulous files on their political activities and their personal lives....

For BLACKMAILING PURPOSES!

As Hoover’s agents tracked death threats around the world, especially after the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, Hoover seemed to take the job of protecting the last brother personally.

FBI Frame-Ups Past and Present

Sick of the Globe's BS yet, readers? On Hoover's watch, yes sir.

But, at the same time, the FBI went to great lengths to keep tabs on Edward Kennedy, especially as his political star rose. The agency collected thousands of pages of personal and political information that had no apparent national security purpose.

Yeah, WE KNOW WHY Hoover wanted the stuff!

“That’s what Hoover did,’’ said Athan Theoharis, professor emeritus of history at Marquette University who has published extensively about Hoover and the FBI. “While it doesn’t constitute an abuse of power, it goes beyond the FBI’s mission. . . . We don’t always know what they did with the information.’’

Except WE DO!!

Hoover would CALL a CONGRESSMAN or SENATOR and say "I have this information about you and just wanted you to know."

The Congressman would realize that Hoover was sending a coded message that said "I have this stuff on you and I will release it if I'm crossed."

The Congressman would then say "Thank you, Mr. Director."

Hoover, who served 48 years as FBI director, became friendly with Joseph Kennedy, the family patriarch, in the 1930s when both were rising stars in the Roosevelt administration....

But at the same time, the FBI was recording concerns about Kennedy himself. The FBI reported on an informant’s fears that Kennedy intended to bring burned Vietnamese children to the United States to show the damage from American bombs.

Back before the war machine got it's claws into him, huh?

See: Meet Your Antiwar New England Liberals

The MSM imagery, however, was that off a dove who railed against the Iraq war.

Isn't that something?

But Kennedy’s career in the Senate was apparently so closely watched by the FBI director that Hoover demanded an explanation when a lower-level official was informed before he was about Kennedy’s successful takeover in 1969 as assistant Senate Democratic leader.

When Kennedy told reporters that Hoover would be called before his committee to testify about a sensitive matter, Hoover was furious, since he had been promised that he would never be called to testify.

WHAT!!!

That is AmeriKan Justice!!

“This shows what an irresponsible person Ted Kennedy is,’’ Hoover wrote in 1967.

But two years later, Hoover’s apparent affection for the family returned....

PFFFFFFFFFTT!!

"Nixon aides pressed FBI on Kopechne; Asked bureau for ‘discreet’ inquiry after fatal crash" by Bryan Bender and Mark Arsenault, Globe Staff | June 15, 2010

WASHINGTON — The FBI responded to Dean on Oct. 23, 1969, but the part of the memo that discusses Kopechne’s travels is blacked out, leaving it a mystery....

“Nixon was obsessed with winning the next election,’’ said David Kaiser, a professor at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I., author of several books about the Kennedys. “Teddy was consistently the candidate they worried about and they wanted anything they could get on him.’’

In previously released tapes, Nixon considered wiretapping Kennedy’s phone to gather information to discredit him....

Really?

Never heard of anything like that before.

"Conspiracy theorists, eavesdroppers offered their views" by Matt Viser, Globe Staff | June 15, 2010

WASHINGTON — Robert Kennedy, as US attorney general, was known for his pursuit of organized crime. The Kennedys were known for attracting glamour, including Monroe memorably singing “Happy Birthday’’ to President Kennedy.

While there were few major revelations in the FBI papers, there is plenty of raw material to keep conspiracy theorists busy....

NO THANKS, Globe!

I have ENOUGH to DO already!
