"Obama orders cost-cutting, property sales" by Associated Press | June 11, 2010
WASHINGTON — President Obama ordered federal departments and agencies to sell underused properties and merge some operations to cut $3 billion from federal spending.
One WONDERS WHY we were STILL HOLDING ON TO THEM, 'eh, TAXPAYERS?!!!!
And that is the PROVERBIAL DROP in the BUCKET when it comes to the TRILLION-DOLLAR BUDGET DEFICITS, isn't it?
Along with the property sales and consolidation, Obama wants managers to increase energy efficiency, according to a White House memorandum.
PFFFFFFFFFTT!
Then SHUT DOWN the WAR MACHINE!
See: The $9 Billion Dollar Fuel Bill
And that is JUST on the JETS!!!
“Both taxpayer dollars and energy resources are being wasted to maintain these excess assets,’’ Obama said...
Like he gives a s***, this detestable liar.
See: Setting AP Straight on the Stimulus
Administration Telling the Truth About Stimuloot
And we LOST JOBS the WHOLE TIME, too!!!!! I've turned on him quicker than Bush because I EXPECTED BETTER, not the SAME OLD SHIT!!!
The federal government is the nation’s largest property owner with 1.2 million buildings, structures, and land parcels, Peter Orszag, budget director, wrote on the White House website.
Umm, THAT MEANS those buildings are YOURS, America -- at least, in theory!
So OBOMBER is SELLING OFF YOUR STUFF so the VERY BANKERS that PUT YOU HERE can GET PAID!!!!!
About 14,000 buildings are designated as excess, and about 55,000 of them are underused, he wrote.
But I'm SURE they got a LINE ITEM in the BUDGETS somewhere... which makes me wonder WHO STOLE THAT TAX LOOT?
The directive is in addition to a separate Pentagon base-closing and realignment commission effort underway that’s expected to save about $5 billion by the end of fiscal 2012.
Yeah, you wanna know how?
I guess they couldn't find enough money among the $700 BILLION they laid out for "defense."
And that is not including the $200 billion in supplemental funding.
Or the $33 billion Gates DEMANDED or HE SAYS the Pentagon will go broke.

I would tell you to GO PRAY, but....
WASHINGTON — Over the past two years, economic hard times have loomed as large at Washington National Cathedral as the Gothic spires that grace the city’s skyline.
The cathedral has slashed its budget from $27 to $13 million, outsourcing its gift shop operation and shuttering its popular greenhouse and its continuing education college for clergy....
Then news came last week that the cathedral was considering selling off part of its rare books collection, probably worth millions.
Cathedral officials said the potential sale of the books is a separate matter from its ongoing budget difficulties.
The ONLY ONES WITHOUT BUDGET DIFFICULTIES seem to be WALL STREET INVESTMENT HOUSES and WAR-PROFITEERING WAR SUPPLIERS!
But they acknowledge that they no longer have the staff and resources to care for such a vast collection, which includes volumes donated by Queen Elizabeth II and Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie and a Dutch Bible that was the first written in modern language....
“What they’re experiencing at the cathedral is what is happening in most Episcopal churches across this country,’’ Rev. Stuart Kenworthy, rector of Christ Church, Georgetown, said....
The cathedral also owns valuable artwork, such as a Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington, which is in storage.
The gem of its book collection is the Prince Henry Bible, one of the original King James Bibles printed in 1611, which the king gave to his son, the prince of Wales. A similar book was sold at Sotheby’s in 1999 for $340,000.
That Bible, cathedral officials said they hope, will remain. Letting Prince Henry go would be too much.Get that foreclosure notice yet, American?
How would you like to eat a WaPo insult brought to you by the Boston Globe?
