"Anti-India protesters battle police in Kashmir" by Associated Press | July 17, 2010
I love the "anti-India" bit. It tells you what angle and ax the agenda-driving war-promoter is pushing.
If there are "pro-Palestinian" activists (implication being anti-Israel) then make what you will of "anti-India."
Maybe they have good reason.
SRINAGAR, India — Hundreds of anti-India protesters clashed with police and paramilitary soldiers yesterday despite a rigid curfew being reimposed in most of Kashmir after weeks of unrest that has killed 15 people.
People were not allowed to attend prayers at Srinagar’s main Jamia mosque for a third successive Friday, but authorities did not stop residents from attending prayers at smaller local mosques in the city.
People who attended mosques joined anti-India protests afterward. Hundreds of protesters threw rocks at police and paramilitary soldiers, who then fired tear gas to quell the protests, a police officer said. That COULD just as well be Palestine and Israel!

In-between my last India post on the subject, we received this mothers of a report, dear readers.

"It is now the focal point for seemingly bottomless Kashmiri rage at the continuing presence of the roughly 500,000-strong Indian security force here.... a full-scale occupation..... They remain even though violence.... has fallen to its lowest point in two decades.... rapes by soldiers, extrajudicial killings, and a lack of redress are endemic, not least because security forces are largely shielded from prosecution by laws put in place when Indian troops were battling a once-potent insurgency here.... About 68,000 people have died in the 20-year conflict."
Yeah, what of those KASHMIR MOMS and WHY is INDIA EVEN THERE!?
"Curfew reimposed in Indian Kashmir
SRINAGAR — Authorities quickly reimposed a curfew in parts of Indian-controlled Kashmir yesterday after new violent clashes broke out between anti-India protesters and government forces, police said. There were no immediate reports of injuries. Police and paramilitary soldiers fired tear gas and used batons to disperse hundreds of rock-throwing demonstrators in three areas of Srinagar, the region’s main city (AP)."
In a buried brief, no less.
A whole week went by and nothing in my printed PoS.

MSM over here is quick to cover that up.
Instead we get Pakistan is ready for a fight!
"Pakistan official vows fight for Kashmir" by Associated Press | July 14, 2010
MUZAFFARABAD, Pakistan — The top official in Pakistan-held Kashmir vowed yesterday to fight India for control of the disputed territory in a speech to thousands of people assembled by a coalition of banned militant groups.
The provocative comments by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan come amid the worst unrest in years in India-held Kashmir, which like Pakistan is majority Muslim.
Then THEY SHOULD be able to VOTE TO JOIN PAKISTAN or BECOME INDEPENDENT!
Either way, I'm sorry, but India should be getting the hell out!
Residents have often chafed against rule by India, where Hindus are in the majority.
Yeah, SOMEHOW THEIR WAR CRIMES -- because that is what their occupation has done as noted above -- are not provocative.
Khan’s comments come a day before India is scheduled to make its highest level visit to Pakistan since militants linked to Pakistan killed 166 people in Mumbai in 2008. The talks are meant to reduce tension between the two countries, but Khan’s comments could do the opposite....
Didn't the police just kill 15 people?
This guy simply SAID he would come to the defense of the people.
Oh, right, to be Pakistani is to be terrorist -- at least, in the Zionist prism posing as a morning newspaper!
The rally was organized by the United Jihad Council, a coalition of 12 anti-India militant groups.
There it is again!
Many of the groups — including Lashkar-e-Taiba, which India blames for the Mumbai attacks — were started with the support of the Pakistani government in the 1980s and ’90s to fight India for control of Kashmir.
And thus backed by US government intelligence as well.
Think David Headley, dear readers.
Pakistan banned the groups several years ago after pressure from the United States. But many of them are allowed to operate openly, a fact that India says hampers improved relations between the two countries.

Yeah, nothing about that side of it here in jewspaper.
I guess that isn't hurting relations.
You can see the front lines being drawn for WWIII, can't you?
India has demanded that Pakistan crack down on Lashkar-e-Taiba and other Kashmiri militant groups, but many analysts believe the government continues to view them as an effective tool to pressure India.
That is what newspapers are for.

And look at what gets more coverage on a single day:
"India death toll rises to 61 after trains crash in station" by Bikas Das, Associated Press | July 20, 2010
SAINTHIA, India — The 22-year-old was asleep on the overnight train, headed to his distant job at a call center, when an enormous jolt awakened him and his coach flipped. He lay with his leg broken for five hours, crushed under the dead bodies of other passengers as he waited for help.
The crash between two express trains at a station in eastern India early yesterday morning killed 61 people and injured scores more....
I don't want anyone to die; however, this is one of those safe filler stories, not controversial -- and could just as likely be a brief.
Accidents are relatively common on India’s sprawling rail network, which is one of the world’s largest but lacks modern signaling and communication systems. Most crashes are blamed on poor maintenance and human error.
Oh, like here in Amerika.
However, it was the second major train crash in West Bengal state in two months. On May 28, a passenger train derailed and was hit by a cargo train, killing 145 people. Authorities blamed sabotage by Maoist rebels for that crash.

Coming from the MSM that means they did not do it.
Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee rushed to the site of yesterday’s crash and raised the possibility that it was another case of sabotage. But there was no indication that rebels were to blame, and railway officials said the crash cause was unclear.
A handful of train accidents in north India in January killed at least a dozen people and were blamed on heavy winter fog that impaired visibility. Other fatal crashes happened when rickety rail bridges give way. However, accidents as deadly as yesterday’s crash are rare....

"Modern train’s arrival lifts fortunes, spirits in New Delhi; Residents proud as malls, shops replace blight" by Rama Lakshmi, Washington Post | May 16, 2010
NEW DELHI — Many in the capital have been embarrassed by their city’s lack of a clean and safe public transportation system, especially as the economy boomed and India’s prominence grew. Now, as the project nears completion, residents say their city is finally on the fast track to becoming modern and world-class....
Analysts say that many blighted, low-income neighborhoods have been reborn with the Metro’s arrival....
Because the train is running through them?

Gee, I don't know what to think now, do you -- except that India's train system resembles my Boston Globe very much.
