Palestinian State on the Way

It is time.

"Palestinians seek European recognition; Move seen as way to pressure Israel amid stalled talks" by Ben Hubbard, Associated Press / December 17, 2010

It will likely change nothing on the ground as long as Israel remains opposed....

Brazil and Argentina, minor players in the Middle East, recently recognized a Palestinian state, as have countries in the Arab world and Africa. Several European countries have upgraded diplomatic relations with the Palestinians, but it is unclear how far the international community will go.

The United States and the European Union have not recognized an independent Palestinian state....

You guys are BEHIND the COURSE of HISTORY!

Of course, I don't know how you get a state out of this....

Israel's Slow-Motion Genocide in Occupied Palestine
when Israel is keeping all settlements.

The United States routinely vetoes measures Israel considers hostile, and the House of Representatives passed a resolution on Wednesday “condemning unilateral measures to declare or recognize a Palestinian state.’’

Yeah, yeah, everyone knows AIPAC controls that band of craven cowards on Capitol Hill.

"Palestinians seek UN rebuke to settlements; No sanctions called for in draft resolution; Proposal would test US stance" by Mohammed Daraghmeh And Josef Federman, Associated Press / December 30, 2010

RAMALLAH, West Bank —The move — largely aimed at seeking US support — bears huge risks. The United States has already balked at the resolution and might veto it. Even a US abstention, a more likely option, would greatly diminish the resolution’s significance....

Of course, when it is some resolution the U.S. wants and the Chinese or Russians abstain it is a great victory -- like sanctions against Iran.

I am so sick of reading this agenda-pushing Zionist slop posing as news.

This would not be the first time the UN Security Council has dealt with this issue.

At least seven Security Council resolutions between 1979 and 2008 condemned the settlements directly or indirectly. The US voted in favor of three of them and abstained on the others....

Yeah, but SOMEHOW ISRAEL can FLAUNT U.N. RESOLUTIONS and get away with it.

"Palestinian leader asks nations for new plan on peace talks" by Dalia Nammari, Associated Press / January 1, 2011

JERUSALEM — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, in a speech to Israeli ambassadors in Jerusalem late Thursday, said his government is “striving for peace,’’ and accused the Palestinians of evading peace talks.

Remember, everything Israel accuses of others is something they are guilty of themselves.

Netanyahu added that a peace agreement must ensure Israel’s security. “This requires demilitarization, and security agreements, because Iran entered the other territories we withdrew from in Lebanon and Gaza.’’

After a while you just tune out the war-mongering.

The Islamic militant group Hamas took over Gaza soon after Israel pulled out in 2005, and the Lebanese militia Hezbollah largely took over southern Lebanon when Israel left in 2000.

Yeah, never mind the winning of elections or anything.

Both groups have fought bitter battles with Israel since, and the Jewish state is concerned militant groups will take root on their border with the West Bank unless a Palestinian state is created in a negotiated agreement.

Yeah, poow widdle Iswael, wah, wah.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas  made his remarks from Brazil, where he set a cornerstone for a Palestinian embassy. The ceremony comes as Brazil, and several other South American countries recently recognized the yet-nonexistent state.

Which means IT WILL EXIST SOMEDAY!

And what would that be like?

"With break in violence, tourists again flocking to Bethlehem for Christmas" by Associated Press / December 25, 2010

BETHLEHEM, West Bank — Israeli military officials coordinate movement in and out of the West Bank....

That's not it.

The traditional birthplace of Jesus is celebrating its merriest Christmas in years, as tens of thousands of tourists thronged Bethlehem yesterday for the annual holiday festivities in this biblical West Bank town.

Officials said the turnout was shaping up to be the largest since 2000. Unseasonably mild weather, a near halt in Israeli-Palestinian violence, and a burgeoning economic revival in the West Bank all added to the holiday cheer. By nightfall, a packed Manger Square was awash in Christmas lights.

Merrymakers blasted horns, bands sang traditional Christmas carols in Arabic, youth marching bands performed, and Palestinian police deployed around the town to keep the peace.

Yeah, I'm really starting to doubt all the alleged Christian-Muslim conflict in my Zionist War Daily, folks.

A group of 30 tourists from Papua New Guinea, all wearing red Santa hats, walked around the nearby Church of the Nativity, built on the site where tradition holds Jesus was born. Church officials and the Palestinian president voiced hopes for peace....

Then we would already have had one.
