"Fired town manager sues Old Orchard Beach
The former town manager of Old Orchard Beach is asking for damages and his old job back in a lawsuit filed against the town. A lawyer for Mark Pearson filed an amended complaint last week in York County Superior Court. The Journal Tribune reported that the lawsuit alleges that by terminating Pearson’s employment in February without cause and by not following due process requirements, the town breached the employment contract and violated the town charter, state law, and the Maine and US constitutions. The suit says that as a result, Pearson has suffered losses of wages and benefits and damage to his reputation."
