Sunday Globe Special: Sick Sicards

"Norton man accused of trying to kill wife

A Norton man is being held without bail after allegedly attempting to kill his estranged wife, who is the town clerk, a spokesman for the Bristol district attorney said. James T. Sicard, 44, pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of attempted murder, domestic abuse, and witness intimidation, Gregg Miliote, a spokesman for District Attorney Samuel Sutter, said in an e-mail. Sicard allegedly twisted the neck of Town Clerk Danielle Sicard, 43, Thursday morning after offering to demonstrate a relaxation technique, Miliote said. James Sicard’s lawyer said in court Friday that Danielle Sicard attacked her estranged husband after luring him into the home they formerly shared with a promise of sex, Miliote confirmed. James Sicard is due in court April 18 for a pretrial hearing, Miliote said."
