"Police and the Essex district attorney’s office are investigating an alleged sexual assault involving two students at the Winthrop School, officials said Tuesday. The assault allegedly took place at the elementary school on Central Street, said Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office. An initial incident report was made to Ipswich police, and school leadership followed protocols to notify all appropriate agencies, police said in a statement. Ipswich Public Schools immediately began working on a precautionary safety plan “to ensure the well-being and safety of all students,” police said. No other details were released."
