"Disappearance of man, 23, a year ago still a mystery
It has been a year since a 23-year-old man disappeared and crews have searched the Mettawee River and areas around it with no success. Jonathan Schaff of Fair Haven, Vt., was last seen early on Jan. 18, 2014, walking on Route 149 near the New York-Vermont line. Police said he was involved in a fight in a bar in Granville, N.Y., and suffered a head injury and broken glasses. Police said his cellphone was found in an abandoned vehicle near the river. The Rutland Herald reported that the most recent search of the river took place in Granville in November by State Police divers and searchers."
