BEIJING - A nearly completed Beijing skyscraper was destroyed last night in a spectacular fire believed to have been ignited by a fireworks display marking the end of the Lunar New Year....
The fire raged in an unoccupied tower that was to house a luxury hotel. The main part of the 44-story complex, a glass block shaped like trousers, did not appear to be damaged....
Why didn't it collapse like WTC 7?
The blaze in the dramatically angled building was visible for miles and attracted a huge crowd of people snapping photos with their cellphones.... The fire was under control by midnight, but the building was gutted....
But it is STILL STANDING, huh?
