Gas Tax Giving Me Gas

PFFFFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTT!!!

Can you HEAR IT and SMELL IT all the way out in Bah-stahn, guverner and pro-gas-tax, agenda-pushing Globe?!!!!!!!!

"Motorists cringe at gas tax plans; Proposed 19-cent increase carries political risk for Patrick" by Noah Bierman and Eric Moskowitz, Globe Staff | February 21, 2009

Massachusetts motorists yesterday greeted the prospect of paying the highest gas tax in the country with a mixture of anger, wincing resignation, and measured support as a way to help fix the state's dilapidated transportation system.

Pffft! The LYING, PRO-GAS TAX, AGENDA-PUSHING MSM never stops, do they?

Governor Deval Patrick's.... proposal would not only raise the gas tax, but continue to increase it yearly with the rate of inflation.

Now WHY was THAT kept under wraps all week, huh? I think we should MAKE HIM DRINK a COUPLE GALLONS!!! OPEN UP, guv!!!!!!

Patrick, the first governor in two decades to propose a broad-based tax increase placed much of the blame on his predecessors, saying that their poor decisions and the "Big Dig culture" had left him and Massachusetts residents with a painful choice: paying up or living with deteriorating bridges, high subway fares, and $7 tunnel tolls.

What a LYING SACK of SHIT!!

Look at the SELF-RIGHTEOUS and SMUG LIBERAL POINT FINGERS!!!

As for the "painful choices":

The State Budget Swindle

Governor Guts State Services

Pigs at the State Trough

Had ENOUGH LIES by this sh***er yet, Masser?

"The days of avoiding the truth and the consequences must end and end now," he said. "Don't just criticize from the sidelines and watch the situation get worse, as those before us have."

What a PRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If approved by the Legislature, the increase would push the state's gas tax to 42.5 cents a gallon, just slightly more than New York's 41.3 cents, now the highest in the country. With the 18.4 cent federal tax added in, Massachusetts drivers may soon pay 61.9 cents a gallon in taxes.

Therefore I will STOP DRIVING in the morning and CEASE PURCHASING the PAPER, how about that? And I won't be driving unless my life depends on it!

The decision comes with political risk for Patrick, who has said he will seek reelection next year. Proposing tax increases creates a broad opening for a potential opponent, leaving him with an important sales job in coming months.

And I'm sure the Globe will be helping him out; however, I LOOK FORWARD to VOTING AGAINST THIS SHIT next time!!!!!

"Look, this is not where Deval Patrick wanted to be in the third year of his term," said Paul Watanabe, a political scientist at the University of Massachusetts at Boston....

Awwwwwww!! Well, NEITHER DID I!

Patrick went to lengths yesterday to emphasize that his plan is about more than raising taxes.

Really? Coulda fooled me!

He said he would not sign an increase unless legislators pass the vast reorganization plan that goes with it, which includes future reductions in MBTA fringe benefits and other changes proposed two years ago by a government commission.

Oh, so he is going to EXTORT the STATEHOUSE, huh?

Thank God we have DemocraPs running this state, huh?

The plan also gives the administration more control over the state's transportation agencies, by, for example, replacing the MBTA board with a three-member committee that reports directly to the governor's transportation secretary.

A bill has yet to be submitted to the Legislature laying out details, but what administration officials have revealed - in bits and pieces to various news outlets and interest groups - appears to include a wide range of environmental, financial, and structural changes to attract or offend nearly every constituency in the state....

Yeah, here I am!!!! Also see: Patrick's Phart Chip

The plan also includes a provision floated earlier this week to charge higher vehicle registration fees for gas-guzzling cars and give discounts to fuel-efficient vehicles. But other previously announced plans to eliminate tolls on the western portion of the Massachusetts Turnpike have been abandoned, as have plans to shift the turnpike authority's debt to the agency that runs Logan Airport.

As usual, we get poked in the pooper by Boston.

Patrick explained some of the changes as tradeoffs in a tough environment, where needs still outstrip the $500 million he hopes to raise from the tax. "All of it is tough," Patrick said. "There is nothing here that isn't a heavy lift."

GO GET the $$$$ from BIOTECH and HOLLYWOOD, asshole!!!!

Legislators have been cautious but open to the bill, saying they were eager to read details and begin debate. House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo called it a "great beginning."

Patrick put pressure on lawmakers to act soon.

And did MY ANTENNAE ever RISE UP on that!! Once again the FEAR and URGENCY CARD must be played!!!

That makes the WHOLE THING SUSPECT!!!

The turnpike authority board is scheduled to vote on a hefty toll increase Tuesday that could raise tolls in steps beginning March 29. Patrick said lawmakers could act before that to avoid the hike or repeal the tolls increase later if the bill does not meet the deadline.

Commuters, though unaware of the details, were beginning to take sides, mostly depending on where they live. "I mean, jeez, we just caught a break on the gas prices," said Kevin Moore, a 48-year-old Cambridge resident, as he stopped for $10 worth of regular at the Shell station on Memorial Drive. "I don't think it's a good plan at all."

And THAT is the ONLY DISSENTER the Globe could find? How MILD!

But over on the Massachusetts Turnpike, Eileen MacKenzie had a different opinion: "I think the gas tax hike is a better idea, because from what I've heard about the toll hike, it was really going to be very high for the people that use it on an everyday basis. This is a little more equal."

And WHY SHOULD I PAY for YOUR USE of the ROADS, lady?

What has BOSTION ever given US OUT HERE (other than a wider asshole)?

A Globe poll in December showed that a gas tax hike did not have majority support, but was more politically palatable than toll hikes and other possible sources of new revenue.

I NO LONGER BELIEVE RIGGED MSM POLLS!!!

To sell the increase, Patrick has to keep making the case, standing next to potholes around the state to demonstrate the need, said Jeffrey M. Berry, a political scientist from Tufts University.

HOW SHAMELESS this little shit is!!!! A PHOTO OP to highlight his LOOTING INCOMPETENCY!

"I think that he's vulnerable now of the charge of being a tax and spend liberal," Berry said, "whereas before he was just a liberal."

On the Pike, Joe Ciaramitaro did a quick calculation as he pumped 24.8 gallons into his wife's Lincoln Navigator. An extra 19 cents a gallon would be nearly $5. With three children and a job as a buyer for a seafood company, the 41-year-old Gloucester resident logs a lot of miles. The hike could cost him $500 a year, he said.

Better that money go to HOLLYWOOD or BIOTECH, right?

"Between feeding, housing, clothing, and schooling, all I need is another increase in my taxes," he said. "You just can't keep taxing people to death."

Otherwise, THEY WILL eventually PUT YOU TO DEATH!!!!!!!!

Of course, don't expect elite sh***ers to smell the s***-stink!

"Straight talk on transportation

THE STATE'S dysfunctional transportation system can't be fixed without bold leadership. Governor Patrick provided that yesterday. He offered a comprehensive plan to squeeze out waste, reorganize a tangle of agencies, and bring in much-needed new money - via a 19-cent hike in the gasoline tax - to maintain infrastructure and pay down debts.

Well, FUCK the BANKS, 'kay?

Given a better choice, no one would dream of asking for a tax hike now; Patrick himself plainly doesn't like doing it. But the cost to maintain the current system has ballooned to perhaps $19 billion beyond existing revenue streams, precisely because past administrations resorted to quick fixes and fiscal games as Big Dig costs swelled and the MBTA sank deeper in debt.

Yeah, it is the OTHER GUYS FAULT, says the agenda-pushing, pro-Patrick Globe!

At some point, responsible adults need to step in and deal with the problem honestly.

Yeah, and those "responsible" adults see RAISING TAXES as the ONLY ANSWER to every problem -- as they "honestly" ignore all the CORPORATE WELFARE!!!

In his speech yesterday, Patrick noted the reforms his administration has put through - most notably an end to the wasteful practice of using police details on all road construction projects.

Pffft! I WANT the PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER THERE as a DETTERENT, not some CIVILIAN in a VEST that the INSANE DRIVERS will just BLOW OFF around here!

That's the GLOBE'S SOLUTIOMN to the MILLIONS in WASTE? Make our roads more dangerous by cutting off a few cop details?

Please see: The Boston Globe's Bad Cop

And he promised more: a crunching of numerous agencies and authorities into a streamlined transportation agency, as the state Senate has suggested; changes to the MBTA's overly generous "23 years and out" pensions; and other cost-saving recommendations made by the Transportation Finance Commission.

The tax hike would, among other things, help pay off debts, support MBTA services, and raise money for regional transit agencies, road improvements, and rail projects outside Boston.

And THAT is what is IMPORTANT: paying off those looting banks.

The plan isn't perfect.

You can say that again!

Commuters in Boston's western suburbs have long been paying too much of the costs of the Big Dig, and they deserve at least some toll relief. Patrick's gas tax plan isn't big enough to provide that. Then again, it would avert an imminent round of toll increases.

And what about us WAY, WAY OUT HERE in the western part of the state, huh? WE get TIRED of being IGNORED and NEGLECTED OUT HERE! If it were not for all the rotten lefties, SECESSION might be a good idea!

Patrick summarized the problem nicely: "It really doesn't matter that we got here under somebody else's watch," he said, "or because of somebody else's short-sighted judgments. This is where we are. And we are all here together."

Then STOP POINTING FINGERS (in a very disingenuous way) and TELL HOLLYWOOD and BIOTECH to GIVE BACK the $$$$!!!!!

His plan will bring discomfort to drivers, public-employee unions, and legislators, who have a tough vote ahead. But it is a genuine, well-thought-out effort to solve a horrendous problem.

--more--"

And I KNOW RIGHT WHERE!

You know the drill....

1. Pull up to pump

2. Get out of car

3. Drop pants

4. Insert gas pump into ass

5. Pump gas
