.... These days, the fact that many of them are women doesn't seem to matter, whether it is Desjardins, a mother of a 2-year-old, or a 17-year-old named Nicole Murphy. Girls are even contending in Junior Olympics, and they are putting on shows just as exciting as the guys.
In the years since a woman boxer from Maine sued the local chapter of USA Boxing alleging discrimination, and 16 years since a female boxer competed in the first sanctioned amateur bout, the area is seeing more boxing shows featuring female fights....
